Ruteng is a small town towards the western end of Flores Island, Indonesia. It is the capital of Manggarai Regency, serviced by the Frans Sales Lega Airport or Ruteng Airport. The population is predominantly Roman Catholic, but still preserve the ancient Manggarai custom of caci (whip fighting), which is usually practiced at weddings, and serves as a tourist attraction.

Other positives - Ruteng isn't a tourist town so there's not much choice here. This is the best of a small bunch

We had a great meal here and we were really full. It only cost 160k and it was the nicest Indonesian food we tried in Flores. It serves Chinese and Western food. It is the perfect place to celebrate or relax with family and friends.

I traveled Flores by scooter, when the cold winds and rain hit me getting up the Mountains to Ruteng. I was very glad to find this place, where i got hot coffee and a warming dinner perfectly fitting my needs. I'm specially overwhelmed by the hospitality and kindness of the very nice owner of the Cafe who provided my with all i needed!

This small coffeeshop is everything globally-franchised place is not: great coffee with natural and fresh ingredients, warm and genuine service, no-nonsense decor. It exudes great smell and great vibe.The patrons are diverse, from locals to foreign tourists, doctors and development workers. So nice to find such place in a small town of East Nusa Tenggara.

After finish explore ruteng, we went to Waroeng Bu Nur. The location is not in the street view, but still can be access by car. The food nice and cheap. Beef soup is one of the best

If you happen to travel from Labuan Bajo or from Waerebo to Ruteng and need lunch, Dapur D'Martha will be one of your choices.
They offer grilled ribs and chicken and ribs soup . For drink , they offer coffee and bay leaf tea.
The food all fresh, tasty. We all have happy tummy.
In addition , eventhough it is an wooden house , the place are clean.
The owner cook themselves amd they are very friendly.
