The Charlotte Hotel & Restaurant

The award-winning restaurant features cuisine that is prepared using many Eastern Shore products. It is with great pride that we support local watermen, farmers, and area businesses. Because much of our fare is made from locally available ingredients, the menu changes frequently, often daily. Everything is house-made, including the ice cream! Our bar is well stocked, and the extensive wine list offers selections from around the world.

Upscale rooms and amenities can be found here. Definitely get out and about to explore this small town on foot if you can, as there are some interesting boutiques, a delightful bakery, art galleries, Mallard's Wharf, antiques and several historical sightseeing tours.

TIP: All rooms are on second and third level, so if you have any issues climbing stairs, best to avoid this hotel.

Great diner next to the Best Western. Looks like it is family-owned. Clean, good food, and people very friendly

It's on the way going Back home. we are starving so we try this restaurant. Nothing is so spectacular. If you're hungry and need a bite this will, do but don't expect amazing taste. It's mediocre restaurant. Servers polite but not friendly.

Island House Restaurant

The Island House Restaurant and Marina is a great waterfront restaurant with a BEAUTIFUL view of The Eastern Shore's marsh and Barrier Islands. Come for our award-winning crab cakes and fresh flounder while sipping some of the best local Eastern Shore wines available. We are very proud to partner with Chatham Vineyards as our signature local wine.

For a lunch stop, interesting and good food but not really compelling. Next time we would have to give them more time and go for fancier dishes to let them show their famous talents.
Walking around outside you do see a bit of the water but it is quite sheltered from open ocean.

Had a wonderful lunch at Becca's. Located in a quaint Virginia style home, shrimp salad sandwich was wonderful and Caesar side was to die for. Excellent choice of homemade desserts! Check this place out!

Tammy and Johnny's

Reviewed By Josepha_11 - Cape May Court House, NJ

Until this visit we could overlook the terrible service, dirty dining room, untended restrooms, and rude staff because of the great chicken. But after waiting 40 minutes for a bucket of chicken when there was only one other person waiting, we will not return to Tammy and Johnny's. They seem like the keystone cops of the fried chicken business. We arrived when they opened on a Sunday and not a piece of chicken was cooked. Who does that? Anyone who has ever worked in a restaurant knows that some food is prepared before the customers walk through the door. The counter person completely ignored me for a full five minutes while she repeatedly counted rolls of nickels. Who needs that many nickels? Suffice it to say, and sadly, we need to find a new friend chicken place for our trips to the Outer Banks.

Our first trip wasn't good. The building looked thrown together with putty dust around the windows. Only one of the 6 flavors was frozen, chocolate. wew. The toppings were all messy and mixed in together. The poor employee, there was just one, didn't seem trained very well. We left and wont be back. I'll be sticking to Scoops in Onancock. THEY have awesome ice cream and EVERYTHING!

The name "Crossroads" is derived from the historical name of what we now know as the town of Onley, which was once spelled Only. Crossroads Coffee Shop is located on the corner of East Main St. and Costal Blvd., which is located in the old downtown area situated just a few hundred feet from the railroad tracks and historic train station. From Rt. 13 (Lankford Hwy) we are located just 1/2 a mile and you can take either Coastal Blvd, Washington St, or West Main St. all lead to Crossroads Coffee Shop. Crossroads Coffee Shop is located in the Old recently restored F&M Bank building which was built in 1904 and in the former Western Union building which was built in 1914. We have an assortment of items for sale including the finest organic/fair trade/carbon free/shade grown coffee. We have a large menu which include pastries, wraps, Panini's, salads, and soups. We hope to see you at Crossroads Coffee Shop!

If you are heading north or south on Coastal Blvd. 13 in VA. and need a good cup of coffee in a refurbished antique bank building, this is the place. We stopped in recently on our way home from VA. Beach. What a great find. We only had coffee, but the pastries also looked quite good. Their location in Onley, is just a short hop off Rt. 13, and worth the few minutes to get there.

Waterfront dining with an upscale casual seafood focused menu. Specializing in the use of Local, sustainable and fresh products with an award winning chef.

During a week-long visit to Chincoteague, we ventured out to see Onancock on a cold, rainy November day. We enjoyed the view from the window near our table of the dock and bay - even the rain, it was lovely at lunchtime. My brother said he thoroughly enjoyed his BBQ sandwich, our server was helpful & attentive... but my shrimp tacos were dry and not very tasty.
