In Valencia there is not a lot of choice for eating Western Food as there are very few tourists in these parts and only a few foreigners usually married to local Ladies. This town only has Mc Donalds or Jollibee to choose from for Hamburgers and fries etc. Forget Mc Donalds now as their hamburgers are insultingly small and very average. Jollibee has stepped up to the mark offering two versions of their "Champ Burger" which are a satisfying size and quality for less money than the inferior versions at other outlets in Valencia. The last one I enjoyed had fresh pineapple and was the propper 6" diameter. I think these are the best value for money with a burger meal costing 189 pesos. Hotdogs and other choices are available but 79 pesos for a very average hotdog is not my idea of value, so go the big burgers fries and drink. Airconditioned comfort and courtious door guards and staff. Great place to take the kids and support the local community.

Vegetable: Fresh
Steak: Fresh
Portion: Abundant
Place: Beautiful, traditional Filipino restaurant in a province: Simplicity in elegance.
Went here after visiting the Monastery of Transfiguration. From the town of Malaybalay, ride a motorella to Amadeo restaurant for only P7.00 per person.
What to order: Steaks are their specialty. We ordered Rib-Eye steak, and chopsuey. Nothing extra ordinary about the steak, though I must say that the steak is better compared to most restaurants in Manila. Likewise, the vegetables are fresh. You can't beat that.
It was also a way for my family to have a relaxing chat after an almost 3-hour bus ride from CDO and the trip to Monastery. For after this sumptuous lunch, we headed to Dahilayan. The environment is very relaxed, there's a hut, lots of greeneries, and OPM music to add to your pinoy experience.
Its the lunch place that is worth the visit when you are in Malaybalay.

Le Cafe

Fell in love with the place the moment I first entered it. The place is divided into 2 parts, the one with the more romantic ambience and the one with a sweet, teenage design. All of their pasta menu is a must try! You'll love their lasagna, alfredo fettuccine, carbonara, meatball spaghetti and even their meals, like Aloha spareribs. The place though is not that suitable for groups since it's relatively small, but it would be best for couples. It's very accessible since it's within the city, just across the city's plaza and just a walking distance from the main mall.

The interiors is very cozy and welcoming. Felt like you were in some good friend's house and not in an intimidating and "socy" (read: pretentious) coffee shop. We ordered pizza and were happy to note that it's thick crust. And boy it was tasty! so much so that we ordered another round. We also tried out their German fries and we loved it, too. We just love the overall vibe of the place and we are definitely going back!

For adventurers and chill-seeker travellers like me, this may be a good pit stop.
Whether you're going on a northern Mindanao trip or just stopping by Malaybalay Bukidnon or maybe you are from Bukidnon... this is a good place to chill.
Cafe with quiet ambience and walking distance from the Capitol Grounds where the government buildings of Malaybalay are.
The place also has a gym inside but the let down is that... with fitness buffs frequenting the place and chilling at the place, I really do hope they revamp their food to healthier ones. :) Something that's very "bukidnon" with the pineapple plantations all around the place... they should use it to their advantage.
I had my quick lunch here and it is very affordable and tastes good. Next time maybe I'll taste their cookies and cakes.
A good stop in Bukidnon after touring the capitol and kaamulan grounds with all its pine trees. Remember that Bukidnon is the Baguio in Mindanao so a good cup of coffee is just about right.

Great service, ambience, music, and the highlight is the French Filipino fusion cuisine. I went with my daughter where we also spent the night in their Homestay for a summer weekday getaway. Staff were professional, they were well versed, they know every item on the menu and how it's cooked, even with the particular stories behind the paintings that was on exhibit in their function room turned art gallery the time we visited. The chefs went out to greet us. Owner is welcoming but not intrusive. It's a great date venue for a romantic night out or with family and friends. We dined in the garden both for dinner and breakfast and they set up a speaker system for us to enjoy the music even when we were the only ones outside.
As for the room, it was clean and they took special care to be authentic to its French Filipino vibe. Not for those who are sensitive to sharing a bathroom but you may inquire ahead if there will be other guests with you when you make a booking, we didn't mind because it was clean, and supplied with tissues, soaps, we were also provided with towels. No AC, only a cooler fan, but the mountain air was sufficient to give us a good night's rest. There was no door bolt though, just a doorknob lock. This might be something for management to look into specially for guests who may feel safer with a bolt on the door. But the free breakfast was a nice surprise, eggs with thyme, home baked baguette with jam and butter, coffee from the local Monk's blend brew and served in a French press or you can have hot coco plus a fermented ginger with calamansi cool drink. Value for your money, drop by this place when in Malaybalay. Worth it to drive a couple of hours to from CDO and stay the night to enjoy breakfast and lunch again with them the next day- just don't come on a Monday, we were told the restaurant will be closed but Homestay will still be open
PS there is also a spa right next door, perfect after a long drive.

Ranchers Steak House

Reviewed By smartsmartin - Manila, Philippines

Feels like a real ranch (actually it is) complete with horses, open grassland, cowboy hats, saddle and wooded house (the restaurant itself). It looks well kept.
Steak is sizzling hot. I think there’s nothing special in it. Probably because my colleagues wanted it medium raw. I like my meat well done! Check out the menu and judge if it is pricey.
The bulalo is just ok, the meat is tender enough. But I would have liked it to taste more salty and meaty.
The rice tastes good. It is definitely not of low quality or the quality of rice that you can buy at the NFA.
Mango shake will take 15-20 minutes. They claimed that the fruits are frozen and then put in a blender to make the shake. The one served to me tastes authentic mango and not a bit from powdered / flavoured juice.
We were belatedly offered tissue. Thumbs up because they gave it without us asking.
It rained when we were eating (lunchtime) which made it more pleasant (weather is cooler and the air smell like trees) to dine and converse with people.
I found the background music nice – not too loud and not too country.
