They say that there are 23 Waterfalls in Iligan City alone (or in the vicinity). This is one of the places you can visit in Lanao del Norte in Mindanao. Of such 23 watefalls, I was very lucky to have visited at least of them, which perhaps were the most famous and scenic of all ... the Maria Cristina Falls and the Tinago Falls.
Like the Maria Cristina Falls, the waters of Tinago Falls also come from the Agus River. It is called "tinago" (meaning "hidden') because it is located in a deep ravine not readily visible to people. In fact to reach the place, you'll have to take the some 500 steps from the road level ... not advisable for those who have some problem climbing or coming down stairs! However, for those who manage to reach the place, the view is truly rewarding!
Tinago is a series of water falls, the highest of which is about 73 meters high. The waters are then collected in a basin below, which has an amazing blue color. Behind the water curtains there is a small cave accessible to the public. It feels good to just stay there and listen to the sound of the waters dropping from the river above down to the basin below. Aside from this, you can also swim in the basin and enjoy its cold waters.

We had our lunch in this island, it has lunch areas managed by different resorts. They charge a fee of 100 per cottage. The current is a bit rough on the shore but you can still take photo ops on the beach.

It is well worth the time to visit Camiguin Island. Accessible from Cebu by air in 50 mins, or ferry from Mindanao. I understand there are also flights now from Manila.
There are many natural wonders to see from Waterfalls, hot and cold Springs, Volcanos, white island, coral and sea life to the man made things like Sunken Cemetery and many old buildings.
There are plenty of places to stay on the island at all different prices and levels of quality. Eating out is not a problem either, with many, many places all over the island.
A visit of about 3-4 days should allow time to see and do most of the attractions and things on the island.

The rock pools clearly visible during low tide. But would get very2 crowded often so. Come early like an hour before low tide to appreciate more. Crystal clear water and amazing pool formation behind the rock formation :)
Just be careful of sea urchins hiding in the pools. There are a lot of them. And as well if tide is shifting to high tide. The waves are bad and can push you to the rocks.
Bring everything water prof. lol. The locker area is a walk to the pool and can't enjoy much of swimming when you need to attend to your belongings a few meters from you.

The falls are considered the widest in the Philippines. In fact there are a few cascades of the falls which makes them truly spectacular. In December the current was not very strong so it was easy to enjoy a refreshing bath in the falls. Great fun. Slow motion. Not a lot of people. A bit challenging to get there as the road from town is not very good and it’s not near but well worth the visit. One of the highlights of the region!

I have been there twice and both occasions were a big disappointment. The place is too commercialized. Everything is overpriced. Visited this small island off the main island of Camiguin after lunch. It was quite sunny but the island offered refuge as it had trees all over and the visitors' area with tables and chairs was under the trees.
Had a quick swim in the warm clear waters but it was quite shallow since we were there during low tide. The sand was white and fine but the beach had a lot of corals. Wearing beach shoes is recommended.
One can have food cooked in the island. There is also a small store selling drinks and other essentials. For an additional fee, one can visit the marine sanctuary near the island which houses corals and vibrant marine life.
Definitely one of the attractions to visit in Camiguin.

went there with my family today and the place was closed. Even the taxi driver was surprised it was not open. Also no info on the gate when it will be open again.

that day, except for the few fishermen who parked their boats, we were the first tourists in this white island. and we had the whole sandbar all to ourselves for at least 15 minutes before the next batch came. it was a surreal experience witnessing the sun rose in an isolated place.
this attraction should not be missed by any tourist visiting Camiguin. it’s one place that would make you feel grateful of the blessings in your life. that was the wonder of the white island.

Grossly overrated tourist trap. Horrible disappointment for all the time, effort and expense required to get all the way to Hinatuan.
1. The sink hole and "park" are both way smaller than photos would lead you to believe.
2. Forget about snorkeling in the beautiful blue area watching fish and diving deep to explore the cave walls like in the photos. Noone is allowed to swim there anymore. You can still "swim" but the swimming area is downstream and around the corner, is only waist deep with absolutely nothing to see and they REQUIRE you to rent and wear one of their life jackets to "swim" there!
3. Their other petty rules, seemingly endless add on fees and charges take away whatever fun might be left over. Oh, and bring lots of coins because noone can give you change for any of these fees. Could be a ploy to encourage you to let them "keep the change" but either way, it's annoying.
I really regret the extra days of travel and hotel and transportation expenses I spent visiting this overrated tourist trap.
