Tucked just off the bustling streets of Loana, this place was a real find. My title above pretty much sums it up. The menu has a lot of seafood but plenty of other options for non-fishy people. The seafood is predominantly Ligurian and fresh, and they have a selection of daily specials which, at least for the seafood choices the day we went, were fresh off the boat that day. And they tasted like it!! There is a good selection of well priced wines, especially the local varieties (Pigato and Vermentino are great with the seafood).
This is an amazing place to visit as a family. We arrived after booking and the children's end of the table was set with colouring in bits and pieces, colourful plates, cups, napkins etc all to make it a bit more special for the kids. They have a corner inside the restaurant full of toys to keep the kids occupied, and other games and things which they can play with outside or at the table. They also have a children's menu which stretches over two pages and offers up so much more than just the pasta con ragu, hamburger or fried chicken nuggets that so many places have.
The food is good enough to deserve a visit in itself, but for families, this is one of those rare places where the adults can enjoy the dining, and the kids are occupied and well catered for as well.

Nice restaurant at marina with otside Terrace and nice view of yachts, serves very good and fresh seafood. Nice presentation of food and average prices for the quality of food. The only two things bothered me. The little choice of dishes and the price of green salad with a couple small tomates for the price of 12 Euro.
While the price for the sword fish plate was 15 Euro.

Cozy digs in an old alleyway. Clean, friendly and fast -as other reviewers have noted. In the middle of winter a very local place- maybe too local for our taste. Can't blame the restaurant that a table of four who came in after us made as much noise as if they were at a football game. But, it didn't add to our enjoyment - indeed, we skipped dessert to let our ears recover.
Pasta named after the house was a little better than average. I suspect those very tiny shrimp may have had a very long journey from Asia. Mixed salad - not bad. A few bottles of supermarket grade wine -suitable for the budget traveler and office worker looking for a value meal. As we left, the front room was quiet, would probably have been more enjoyable.
The service was prompt and courteous. I don't want to be overly critical, but not much to tempt us to return.

Lovely restaurant in the heart of Loano's old town. Perfect location with a great Terrace. We had a very pleasant dinner: the food is fresh and dishes well prepared, very friendly owners and staff. The prices are in the average for the area. They have an amazing wine menu. I strongly recommend, and hope to be your guest again soon!

We ate here all five in the family. Very friendly service, simple menu in the nice local Italian way ! All had well tasty pasta which is their main dish but they serve other dishes as well. Very nice experience to see locals arrive to fill their own brought bottle with wine from the restaurant! Will recommend!

Clearly, this is a locally popular place. A little too local for us. Other reviewers have focused on the modest prices and fresh seafood. I can't fault the quality of the calamari, potatoes and wine we had for lunch. They were all fine, but everything was monochromatic, tan-yellow, cooked competently but boringly.
The luncheonette atmosphere, AM radio blaring, tiny formica type tables left much to be desired. There is a place for simple food, and the service was efficient and pleasant enough. You will avoid the kind of dishonesty you find at some places catering to tourists, but this was too bland and utilitarian for us.
At this price point, perhaps one shouldn't expect more. Previous reviews remind me of the shortcomings of Tripadvisor. They just don't compute.

Enjoyed a great dinner with family (including kids and Italians). Menu is very short and explained by the server (I guess this changes everyday). Enjoyed every item on the menu. This included spaghetti with seafood, fried calamari and fried anchovies. Served simply and very fresh.

You will find this atmospheric and friendly restaurant on a narrow back street in the heart of the old section of town. It's worth finding. I wouldn't call it a "destination restaurant", but in a small city with mostly mediocre dining options, this is a reliable and enjoyable venue.
As one might expect just meters from the sea, the emphasis is on shellfish and seafood although other options are available. The cooking style follows Ligurian tradition; and at this skill level that is something worth celebrating.
The wine list is short, but fairly priced and offers decent but not stellar examples of various regional varieties. I didn't see any of my favorite Pigatos and Vermentinos, so we opted for a very nice Greco di Tufo. It went quite well with our main course, a generous Tuna Steak prepared Ligurian style with plenty of local olives and minced potatoes. Desserts were fine and probably came from a local and reliable bakery.
This is a family Enterprise, and it is pleasing to see an old space in the budello deservedly building a local following. We would definitely return on another trip to Loano.
