La Cumbrecita is a small picturesque, secluded alpine-like hamlet, located amongst spruce and pine, at 1,450 metres (4,757 ft) above sea level, where it is not unusual to see a blanket of snow in winter time. It is situated in the Calamuchita Valley in the Grand Sierras of Córdoba, Argentina. A 30 kilometres (19 mi) paved road, up through scenic views of the Sierra Grandes will take you to La Cumbrecita.

We arranged for the La Colina restaurant to pick us up from our hotel. The big yellow SUV arrived and from then til when they dropped us off later that evening we thoroughly enjoyed the experience. The service was wonderful, the view was great and of course the food was superb. This is family business and we were very impressed with the quality.

It's supposed to be a good restaurant in La Cumbrecita, they come and fetch you from your hotel in a 4x4. As soon as we got in you are hit by high decibels of argentine rock music nonstop.
You cannot hold a conversation as both singers, not too bad really, perform one song after the other with no interval.
Food is OK and service average. My companion felt his pork was not cooked properly but his suggestion was dismissed.
Don't think I'll be returning anytime soon.

This restaurant has the most amazing view but we weren't allowed to sit out due to maintenance reasons ( VERY DISAPPOINTING). The food was delicious and they serve big portions. That's always a plus for me. You Try the chicken wok. Very flavorful.

Was at Engel on a Tuesday when it is basically the only establishment open for dinner.
There was fish on the menu so I decided to get that as there are water bodies to get fresh fish around La Cumbrecita.
The fish came wrapped in aluminium foil. The fish was over salted and the potatoes that accompanied the fish were undercooked and a little too hard.
All in all a pretty disappointing dish.
Good service appeared in the form of the staff offering a ride back to our accommodation with heavy rain.

Casa de té de una reputación que no está a la altura de lo que ofrece. De todas maneras no deja de ser una buena alterativa en La Cumbrecita para una tarde de tortas e infusiones con una ubicación privilegiada sobre la ribera del río que alimenta al Lago de las Truchas. Buenas tortas, carta escueta, infusiones en saquitos, ambiente descuidado y una atención austera dejan a esta casa de té sólo vestida de su reputación, su historia iniciada en 1940 y la frescura del río. Que cada uno haga sus cuentas. Aceptan Visa débito. Abren sólo sábados y domingos de 15 a 19:30 hs.

We went there in the late afternoon to have tea and cake. The cakes were quite average, the chocolate cake was dry (probably a few days old) and the Apfelstrudel was quite average. The portions are big, so you will not be hungry after. Nice selection of teas. The "submarino", a kind of hot chocolate (milk + a little bar of chocolate), is very good. The Sandwich we had was very good. Bar Suizo is a lovely little restaurant, a pity the cakes were not what we had expected.

LIndo lugar para descansar y comer algo rico. No hay muchas opciones vegetarianas pero nos dieron alternativas en unos sándwiches muy ricos. Los jugos tambien son muy buenos. Venden productos como licores, acetos, aceites, condimentos. la atención es cordial y el lugar es lindo con una vista hermosa. Incluiri mas opciones vegetarianas en la carta.

Un lugar lindo, con lugar al aire libre. Muy buena atención. Si bien tardó un poco en llegar la comida, era muy rica y abundante. Además es uno de los más económicos del lugar y está estratégicamente ubicado. Fuimos en temporada baja, todo estaba muy tranquilo.
