The coastal village of Kamari features the beaches and ruins that are typical of Greek islands, but also boasts unusual attractions like an open-air cinema. Stray from the black pebble shores and head up to the site of Ancient Thira, where the stone remains of houses, markets, baths and temples will impress you with their size and structure. Sip local vintages at the Gaia Winery, then relax at an outdoor café as you watch the sun sleepily drop below the horizon, washing the sky with warm Aegean light.

Having not stayed here before we walked from our hotel down to the seafront and chanced upon this restaurant. Food was really good with very good service, at a reasonable price.

Sellada is a family taverna with local specialities in a cosy veranda. You have to queue in order to get a table in the peak dinner hours! We do our best so that you are happy with our dishes & service; and, so that we can guarantee the quality of our food we have chosen to keep our restaurant small. Authentic Greek cuisine with fresh local products & daily menu at the best value for money!
Simple Greek surroundings and Greek music in the background with quick service. Nice mixed grill and great value under 10 euro, the others had some different dishes such as chicken with mushrooms and dates and a pork dish with a sauce which they said were nice too. Cheap house wine was again lovely and the free ouzo or a liquer at the end was a nice touch. The only thing to say is the daughter seems to take all the orders and is very busy and lacked a little warmth at times.

We arrived around noon at the island and from day 1 we wanted to explore the island. People told us we should visit Kamari beach because it is a very crowded area with many restaurants. We went there, we loved everything about it but most of all the couples walking by..younger and older..holding hands...cute!
After a long walk, almost 1h, we felt the urge to eat something. ‘Taverna Lolos’ was the first place we tried, because we smelled seafood. We were there early in the evening, the people who worked there were very kind to us.
We had the shrimp spaggeti and the spaggetti with a combination of seafood-mussels, octopus, kalamari… We felt that the seafood was fresh and we were happy about it. We also tried their barreled wine and we liked its strong and genuine taste.
For the good times xxxx

We had been recommended here by the hotel owner and we're glad we had a recommendation to follow as the beach front is wall to wall restaurants with little to differentiate them except volume of custom or decor. The Elia seems to buck the trend of special offers and has a reassuringly limited menu which caters for most tastes offering excellent quality food and wine at reasonable prices. Our bill for 2 was 66 euros for 2 courses and drinks which is probably the high end of cost on the front but we'll worth it.

This restaurant does not deserve its tripadvisor rating
So much promise and little delivered
Tough pork loin served on cold plates, too much attention given to surprises (free nibbles) we felt they have taken their eye off what’s important
Staff friendly enough with an air of importance about them though
Please try other restaurants in the area first as this was our worst in a whole week of eating out

Koralli Restaurant was a restaurant we accidentally found at the area of Kamari. We asked for the menu and whether they serve fish. They said they had a good variety of fish and we agreed to have our dinner there. We were very satisfied with their services. The waiters were very attentive. And their food was of good quality. We had the Santorini salad with cucumber, potatoes and olives. It was a traditional salad and this is why we liked it so much. For fish, we had the steamed mussels and the grilled squid with grilled vegetables. The fish was fresh with great smell and well-fried.
**If you wonder around the area of Kamari, and you want to try fish, go to this restaurant!

A traditional restaurant with original santorian "meze" ,greek and mediterranian cuisine
Went twice during a 1 week stay and would happily have gone more times. Recommended by local hotel. Unpretentious. Not fancy food but very good and not a chip in sight. Free welcome drink and nibbles, free desert. Never less than busy when we went past, when nearby restaurants almost empty. Would recommend booking.

Captain's Corner Taverna is a Local Greek Traditional Family Restaurant, owned by Captain Andreas and his wife Ms Evaggelia. They both cook and serve the meals!!Don't loose the opportunity to experience the local traditional homemade meals they serve and the amazing local hospitality!!
I ate here twice during my stay and enjoyed it, the first time I went for octopus and stuffed vine leaves to start, good octopus grilled with a good smoky taste but not tough. Second meal was lamb kleftiko and this was very good , tender and slow cooked. price was very reasonable and I though the service was good. Full both nights I went which is always a good sign.
