This restaurant deserves its top rating for Gmunden. The food is reliably good, the wines by the glass were also good. The owner stopped by our table to chat, make sure all was well, more than once, nice fellow.

One of our favourite restaurants in the region. You will be able to taste from the region but the cook is experimenting in a positive way to make some amendments to the regional menu successfully.
The place is clean tidy and show a good taste of the owner. The personnel are doing their best to make guest feel satisfied.
If you happen to visit this place walk behind the building and you will be surprised to see the natural swimming pool offered from the owner :)

At the foot of a huge mountain (is in my world) and on the lake sure this could not be placed in a more idyllic location. We arrived to a very busy late summer afternoon with no tables but one became available quickly. The food was perfect and the service prompt and courteous. Bowls for dogs with their walkers.
A perfect set up for a walk along the lake and up into the range or for when you have finished. If you get a parking spot right outside the hotel remember to let them know if you go off walking. Tow away sign!!!!

While the hike from the Grunberg cable car was relatively easy it still warranted a cold beer. Ramsaualm did provide not only that but very good food as well. Great atmosphere in a nice renovated hut with very nice views on the Mountains and the lake. Beware - there is a swap near the lake and the kids will definitely check it out !

It was such a great place for the gathering of the family. The cold food (which the only thing on the menu "Jause means snack") was delicious..
But forget about the good food, the super friendly staff, the nice atmosphere up there... etc, and just sit on the bench, have a drink and enjoy the mysterious view of Traunsee and the surrounding hills.
We're planning to climb the Traunstein this summer, so for sure on the way down we'll definitely stop by at this "station" and have a "jause" once again!

We came for dinner, and were very pleased. The menu is diverse, and the fresh lake fish was excellent, as was my curry rizotto and our fresh vegetable salads. Ich habe ein Wienerschitzel bestellt:
1) Das Fleisch war zäh und war nicht besser als Convenience Food
2) Der Reis war verkocht und ungenießbar
3) 2 halbe Kartoffelchen (die waren zwar ungesalzen aber frisch gekocht und gut)
4) Im Salatteller war auch ein Kartoffelsalat, der schon bräunlich war
5) Ebenso im Salatteller waren Karotten aus der Dose (wie kann man das vertreten???)
Obendrauf war die Bedienung unfreundlich ... und Raucherlokal!
Alles in allem keine Erfahrung, die man wiederholen möchte ...

As I am living in this region I know a lot of places to go to and some not to go to. This is one you should definitely visit as you're in Grünau or somewhere close around. Excellent coffee, tea and cakes. You have to try the breakfast too, it's seriously tasty and good value. Also have a look at weekly and monthly events or specials. Often worth a try!
