We visited the Brauhaus because my maiden name is Freistadt and so is the beer's! We were a little disappointed as the gift shop and tours shuts down at noon on a Saturday and doesn't open again until Monday. The beer was good, though, and the restaurant and outdoor beer Gardens were lovely.

Food we ate was really tastefull, among others thanks to fantastic herbs which owners grow in a glasshouse in front of their restaurant. Worth to go for good, regional food and very nice atmosphere!

Griechisch-Italienisches Restaurant im Herzen von Freistadt, durch das am Rande gelegene Restaurant in mitten der Natur neben einem Bach, kommt das Gefuhl von Freiheit und Wohlbefinden mit dem Team der Pizzeria auf Perfektion. Wir haben Durchgehen Warme Kuche!

We visited this restaurant regularly ( exists 10 year next week ) and appreciated again a delicious pizza. The restaurant has a very large choice of pizza and also other Italian specialities. The service is excellent ! We warmly recommend this typical restaurant !

While visiting Freistadt for the day, we enjoyed walking through the historical medieval square and found this wonderful bakery selling delicious cakes and coffee, from the menu we learned they also serve breakfasts and light lunches. The service was fast and efficient and my coffee delicious.

Was there late evening. Located in the old city center it conveys a closed and slightly mysterious impression. Nevertheless it was quite crowded and the bar as well as all tables were occupied. Finally got a table in one of the tiny booths. Had some drinks and a pita bread which was delicious.
Service was really friendly tough the place was busy. Prices reasonable.
Only negative issue: Smoking allowed and apparently the ventilation didn´t work properly.

Went in the afternoon for a cold drink and quick snack. My drink came in a dirty glass and the snack wrapped in a serviette that stuck to the melted cheese, ensuring that some of the Sandwich was inedible. The less said about the service, the better. A real shame, as the place came highly recommended.

Der 9 Fache Staatsmeister im Cocktailmixen mixt was das Zeug hält in einer der Besten Cocktailbar des Landes !! Vielfach ausgezeichnet vom Bar/Fachmagazin Falstaff !!! Tipp. Fragen sie den Barkeeper nach einer Show !!

Acanto is located in a narrow street of the lovely historical centre of Freistadt and may attract uncautious tourists - as we were - because of its mix of ultra-modern style and underground music cave, but in five minutes one will realize he is wrong.
An immense cloud of cigarettes smoke - all right, we know that Austria is miles away from civil rules to protect citizens' health in the pubs, but what's too much is actually too much! - will submerge you. Loud ordinary music will make every conversation difficult, but it's the poor quality of the drinks that will make you run out disgusted from the bar. Cocktails are water and ice poured with two millimeters or less of the ingredients, and prices are high. Forget it.

We visited the restaurant with quite a few friends. We were amazed at the variety of burgers available and the quality.
The service was efficient and friendly. We had a number of children with us and they felt very comfortable in this environment.
The drinks were delicious.
Highly recommended
