It did not take long for the name of the 8th Avenue Bar&Supper Club to cross Norway's borders, the positive reports communicated by satiasfied guests to international media. The cub is inspired by the nostalgic American 1960's. Revisit the era through 8th Avenue's live entertainment, the food served and the décor. Enjoy a fun evening and dance the night away. Open daily from 12 noon.

There are not too many options in Farsund for eating out and for one meal we picked this small Chinese restaurant. The layout is pretty standard and the service is not too bad but is pretty slow and you really need to make a point of catching someone’s eye. The food is not brilliant but is better than takeaway standards, although essentially this is what the place is. The food was prepared and served quickly and while nothing was amazing, all was good.
Price wise of course it is very expensive because of the country – unavoidable perhaps but it is still hard to take that you pay almost £20 for a dish that would be around £8 in the UK.
So decent Chinese food in an OK place, but you have to be prepared for the Norwegian prices applied here.

If you are the 1st ordering coffee you can chose whatever coffee you want and they will make it for you (as dagenskaffe). It is nice place to sit (you can do it inside or outside) and they also have some place for children where...MoreDear guest. Thank you for your kind review. Make sure you visit us again.

Thr kitchen tries to be continental, gastro pub'ish, and modern. But they can't cut it.
Lunch yesterday was a joke, the burger consisted of two very dry meat patties, some sort of ciabatta burger bread (no majo) a retro iceberg salad that took me back to the 80's, a few slices of tomato and some very sweet pickled cucumbers (Nora???) and an enormous pile of french fries, as if the huge portion was a way to apologize for crappy food.
Dinner was worse, way worse. I asked the kitchen to make sure my starter soup was reaaly hot (hate cold soup). Got it lukewarm...I sent it back and it took the kitchen approx. 15 minutes to reheat the soup. The peppersteak was neither peppery, nor steaky. Asked for medium rare, got well done. The garnish was tasteless and overcooked (warm iceberg salad as garnish for steak??). The pepper sauce tasted bland. The puree I have no idea what vegetable it was supposed to be...
Dessert was like fruit on speed. Mixed together was grapes, blueberries, cherries, kiwi, jam, whipped cream, merengue (i think..) crumbles and more crumbles and icecream. Another apologetic portion size aimed to fill the stomach, not to impress the pallet. My partner ordered fondant, it was cooked through and really dry.
Allthough we left most of the food on the plate the waiters didn't ask why we didn't eat the food. They never came to take the dinner plates away, just served us dessert on top of the main course leftovers.
Poorly executed from start to finish, will not be back for more. Too bad that people in Farsund have so few restaurants to choose from. If I lived here I would try my darndest to avoid having dinner here, EVER.

Out for Sunday dinner and went for the buffe at this restaurant. The food was very good and tasting, one of the best buffe ever had ! I have tried the pizza from this place earlier which also was a high score. I can reccomend to visit this place. The people working there were all in good humor, very friendly and helpful. The dessert table was a little too much on top (Excellent) !

A sesonally based takeaway smoothiebar. In addition to smoothies the experience also serves real american milkshakes made with hershey's chocolate syrup, fresh juice and coffee from fresh grounded beans. As snacks you can get sandwiches, homemade cookies and homemade dried fruit! The experience smoothiebar is an unbranded charming familyrun buisness in the heart of "Det Amerikanske Lista".
Vært her flere ganger, og kommer helt garantert tilbake. Utrolig hyggelig betjening og mye mulig den beste milkshaken jeg har smakt.
Anbefaler virkelig å tenke litt utenfor boksen med smak. Selv har jeg positive erfaringer med cookiedough og peanut butter!
