Abracadabra Restaurant and Disco-Bar

Since 1985 Abracadabra is a very trendy restaurant, a milestone among residents, visitors and the international yachting world as it offers really everything: their traditional Italian cuisine includes finger licking home-made pasta, freshest seafood, AAA black Angus beef and the famous “suckling pig by legendary chef Sagie” along with an exciting range of creative, delicious starters, all accompanied by a rich list of wines, a wide choice of tropical cocktails and..... after the decadent desserts, Abracadabra transforms into a thriving nightclub with open-air decks and dance floors under the palms and stars. The favorite Club for residents, visitors and V.I.P. all perfectly blended in the cozy, laid back but professional atmosphere.

Paolo and team do such a great job with the daily specials (octopus salad on our last visit) to keep up the high standard as well as an outstanding suckling pig and mixed antipasto which are old favourites. Long and excellent wine list by Antigua standards. Energetic and cheerful service lovely vibe throughout the room. Best for dinner, since there are a few good places with a view for lunch.

Lovely location on the marina, with a great view of all the yachts. We had to pay to get into the Nelson Dockyard National Park area. Very good seafood, average price for the area. Friendly service. We had the lobster salad and coconut prawns. Generous servings of both. The lobster salad was the best we had anywhere - the lobster was grilled, perfectly cooked, taken out of the shell and chunked so easy to eat.The sauce was not all over the lobster which it often is in Antigua, so you can't taste the lobster itself. This was just right.

My husband and I had an excellent meal at Catherines Cafe! We decided to try tasting menu with wine pairing and were not disappointed. Perfect pairing of food and wine flavors. The service was fantastic, friendly and professional. While the memory of food will fade away, our fantastic experience of this very special evening most certainly will not! Catherines is much more than good restaurant. This is a first class restaurant we would highly recommend to all visitors to Antigua!

Rumbaba

A new welcome addition to the range of restaurants in this tourist area which is currently full of super yachts. The Italian owner and her French chef partner are cooking at a really high standard in this small, but wonderfully formed wooden building. It's possible to watch the chef at close proximity. Each plate is lovingly prepared; all are delicious and some, for example the carpaccio of marlin or the seared tune, are exceptional.

We had pasted this place a few times & it always looked welcoming, so we decided to give it a go. We hadn't booked, but the lady in charge seated us behind the main restaurant. Although it didn't have the same atmosphere as the front, it was still nice. We realised we needed to book.
The waitress came & asked us what we wanted to drink, so we ordered some water & asked if we could order our drinks after we had seen the menu and had decided what to eat. She said the lady would bring the menu in a moment.
Eventually the lady did bring the menu, but it was a photo of the menu board taken on her iPad. She proceeded to hold up her iPad & talk us through the menu. In order to see it properly, she had to zoom in to each item because it was very small. She then stood there & waited for us to choose. This was really difficult because you couldn't see the whole menu at once and her standing there put you under pressure to choose.
We had one person in our party who doesn't eat fish. There where only two meat options and unfortunately he didn't fancy either. We felt forced to make a quick decision as the lady stood there with an impatient attitude. It was very uncomfortable.
After she left, we decided we were not going to enjoy the meal because of the way they had made us feel. One of the party went to tell her we were going to leave. She was cross, charged us for the bottle of water & asked for no feedback as to way.
It was disappointing to leave because the food did look good. It was more expensive though than any of the other places we had tried in Falmouth.

SUN RA

Sun Ra is one of those places in life where once you go, you wonder why you didn’t try it before. From the road side the exterior is an unassuming Caribbean wooden house set in a pretty garden lit up by dancing lights in the trees. You head through the wooden gate, and as you round the corner onto the gallery your senses are sent into overload: from the aromas of fresh cooked food from the kitchen; the warm and calming effect created by the lighting; the stunning views of the harbour on which the restaurant is located, to the warm welcome of owners Betty and Mirko, and then of course there is the sound of jazz and new world music that forms the cool, chilled out backdrop to your evening. Named after the talented jazz pianist who was so crazy he truly believed he was from another planet, Sun Ra Restaurant, is far from crazy but it is a vibrant place to hang out with a definite European atmosphere. Sun Ra was in fact a great friend of portrait photographer Mirko Boscolo half of the husband and wife couple who own Sun Ra, and the jazz lover in the family, and whose photographs of Sun Ra were the inspiration for the simple, contemporary style of the restaurant. A perfect melding of jazz, art and culture and superb lunch and dining. This restaurant really is simple, in its menu, food, wines and attitude. The Mediterranean influence on the menu is clear, what is not at first obvious, is that every single thing listed is made from scratch fresh including the bread, daily. As Betty describes that evenings options to you, it does become clear that the menu changes daily to accommodate local fresh ingredients, such as Lobster sald, Hot Fish Trio, Sea Food Linguine. The lunch and dining experience is casual and laid back but the service is fast and first class. A mixture of wines from both old and new worlds which complement the foods perfectly are sold by the glass or bottle along with fresh juices and harmoniously mixed drinks. And of course excellent Italian coffee! A dinghy dock leads right next to the restaurant patio making it perfect for persons staying on board at the Antigua Yacht Club Marina, Falmouth Harbour Marina and the Catamaran Marina. Betty and Mirko welcome everybody with a huge smile, you have the feeling you are being welcomed into their own home. This restaurant is one of those perfect little finds you will keep coming back to. Open for Dinner: Monday to Saturday from 06:00 pm to 10:00 pm Lunch: Wednesday, Thesday and Friday from 12:00 pm to 02:30 pm
