Where to Eat in Cambrils: The Best Restaurants and Bars

December 15, 2017 Lashaunda Abraham

Cambrils has a well-deserved reputation as the culinary capital of the Costa Dorada. There is a veritable cornucopia of fresh local ingredients, ranging from fish and other seafood to the internationally acclaimed DO Siurana olive oil. Between the historic population center and the ports, life in Cambrils unfurls peacefully around beaches and promenades. Looking on as fishing boats glide into the harbor and discovering the Old Quarter are two of the many pleasures that await in this Catalan town.

We were told by the locals to visit this restaurant - and we were not dissapointed. The food quality is on a high level in general and compared to the price you get really high value. The staff are friendly, but some are having a little challenge with speaking/understanding English, but they manage in a fine way
The atmosphere is quite informal as there are locals, families, children and pairs.

Bresca Restaurant

An 11 table Restaurant , we are almost at the seafront. We moved to a new place in 2016, a place a bit bigger and lighter. We own an organic garden. We have a Mediterranean style, and of course, Catalan style. Our wine list is mainly full of wines from our area, but, of course, we have wines from the rest of Spain.

We had a really decent meal here my wife had as starter the grilled spinach dish and I had the Bunyols de Bacalla, good taste, not too salty but served on a cold plate why?
The main course was excellent we both enjoyed the lobster paella, excellent taste and portion.
Lovely verdejo to accompany the subtle taste of this exquisite dish.
The service was relaxed and friendly and clearly geared on many tourists, although from BCN still considered as one, continue to improve my Catala.
Best place in Cambrils without a shadow of a doubt is Can Bosch, but Acuamar is certainly a decent alternative.

Pros: The atmosphere was cosy and familiar, and the service was friendly and efficient. The food was delicious. The quality of the fresh local products was excellent. The dishes were very tasty and its presentation was creative and modern. The price was reasonable because the restaurant offers different menus for lunch during the week -from 15€ to 25€, and a menu for lunch on weekend -for 25€.
Cons: Luckily, I booked a table two days before because the place was crowded. I ordered a specialty that wasn’t on the menus and the bill was more expensive.
Overall opinion: Did I enjoy it? Yes, I did. The lunch was a success. Would I go again? Yes, of course. The restaurant has a good value for money. So, I can recommend it.

I booked a table as we were holidaying in Salou and wanted something a bit better than cafe food. When we turned up we felt decidedly under-dressed as the tables, decor & waiter looked as if they'd been lifted from the dining room of a fine cruise liner :-) However, the staff were extremely friendly and attentive, and we felt completely at ease. The set menu was excellent and included a decent Catalan red wine & cold bottled water. The portions were huge and the food delicious. We sent back our steaks as they were undercooked for our tastes - our fault entirely as we had not anticipated the thickness of the meat. There was no drama from the chef and we had our main course back within minutes, cooked the way we wanted. Irish coffee was prepared for us at the table and was delicious. The price, unlike our French experiences, was inclusive and entirely reasonable. We found this whole experience a bit special and will certainly return.

Taste of India

Only authentic Indian restaurant in town.

Reviewed By Jontyftm - Sunderland, United Kingdom

I love a good curry and after having what I consider to be the best curry ever whilst in Portugal in april I looked forward to trying one here. Staying in Cambrils we used the public bus to get here getting off outside the Mucky Duck pub and walking the short distance to the restaurant.
Upon arrival we were quickly shown to a table and ordered drinks whilst we perused the menu. The menu was typical of many Indian restaurants containing all the classic curry styles.
For starter my wife chose the onion bhajis which were flat like patties instead of the traditional round, this made them a little dry. I chose the meat samosas which when I cut them open all the filling spilled out as nothing had been used to bind the filling together.
For main course my wife chose the lamb dopiazza and I chose the lamb madras. The dopiazza was delicious it was meant to be a medium curry but I would have classed it mild to medium. A madras should be fairly hot but what I was served could only be classed as medium, nevertheless it was very tasty.
So not a bad curry experience but I would recommend asking for yours to be tweaked up a bit if you prefer yours a bit spicier.
