Great place for coffee and a sandwhich, all freshly made, choice of breads and reasonably priced. Good coffee. The waitress who took our order was delightful, the young man delivering the meals was disinterested, with the meals coming out at odd times.

Really fulfilling and traditional effort by the kitchen staff show up in the warm and tender meals. Five of my family couldn't fault anything. Topped up with fabulous service and support for all at the table, gluten free and pescarian sorted in minutes. Xx

I begged my partner to take me back simply because the dumpling dish was mesmerising.
And of course they were just as good the second time.
A little disappointed with the zucchini flowers that we found a bit lacking in flavour.
The beef tataki was beautiful and the serve of olives very generous and delicious.
The service was very polite once again from a gentleman who I believe would be Spanish or Brazilian. It was nice to feel harassed and have a peaceful dinner but still well looked after.

This is a regular place for us to grab a quick veggie meal and walk over to Burleigh Headland for a relaxing meal.
Menu is a bit old. Same selection as years ago. Having said that, it is delicious and very affordable.
Very popular Place but not much Seating and more quick eat cafe style than sit in restaurant.

Ate here last night with a group of friends to celebrate a birthday. The food and service was terrific. Whist it is licensed they allowed us to BYO. We shared a number of entrees and main between us all and it worked very well. The food itself is probably "mellowed down" a bit to suit a more western pallet.But I do like spicy!! Quite a number of Indian people were eating here as well which is a good sign. This is a great, no nonsense suburban eatery that serves good quality food at reasonable prices with a very friendly and efficient staff.

Stumbled across this cafe on a rainy Saturday while looking for something else. Went for coffee only but ended up ordering breakfast.
Generous serving sizes, excellent coffee with many milk options (i can only have almond or coconut milk) and delicious food. I live on the northern Gold Coast, but I would travel down to Burleigh again to go here.

My only gripe is that the music is often far too loud.. Would it be possible to relocate the speaker? In the kitchen or something if the staff want to hear loud music.. I love music and DJ but I’m not a fan of loud music while I eat.. not very relaxing!

At The Fish House, our job is to buy the best available produce on a daily basis then try not to mess with it too much. We are heavily influenced by Southern Europe. That being said, we believe in the simple pleasures of olive oil and lemon juice, rather than butter & cream.

In my opinion this is by far the best restaurant in south-east Queensland and in my opinion the best between south-east Queensland and Melbourne. It’s just so rare to have honest fresh food cooked in a simple authentic Mediterranean style without the need to infuse completely, overcomplicate flavours and simply confuse and mix ingredients that were never intended to be together. This restaurant is about food, about quality, about good service, about honest delicious fresh Mediterranean style seafood. There’s nothing like it between here and Melbourne ; it is an absolute must go. Generally the menu changes by a substantial part based on what’s available and most ingredients are sought from the region where the product is best known and best grown. Queenslanders; do you self a favour and experience a truly authentic high quality restaurant that is nothing at like the rest of the homogeneous and typical restaurants that you will experience just about everywhere else in south east Queensland- particularly in Brisbane.

Long narrow space on James Street,seating on stools mainly at the bar and along side.A few tables inside and outside.Dark interior however cosy and inviting.
Staff very friendly and professional.We shared:
Duck spring rolls,sticky soy pork belly with mustard apple pickle,chicken parmy strips with Jamon and aioli and chawanmushi (prawn,salmon and mushroom in a savoury custard.)
Food was good,the stand out was the chawanmushi.
