We had a nice steak in a pleasant atmosphere with a very sweet and cordial waiter. Lots of tasty food. Ambient Music, not our taste but what the heck. This is our first time in the Czech Republic. And we like it.

After upgrade and extension, these people continue to create extraordinary foods of outstanding taste. While the ingredients are well known foodstuffs, some combinations may seem unusual ... but always the outcome is perfect harmony. Nothing like it!!! The courses are coming fast after each other. This is apperently common in the city as we noticed this at all restaurant. Some dishes were nice but burrito"s were dry in side. Steak was good. Prosecco is nice. Ambiance and alcoves are good to sit.

This charming small restaurant next to a chateau in a pleasant town of Jilemnice in the Krkonose (“Giant”) mountains” is certainly worth a visit. As its name suggests (means “Hot stones”), customers can take control of their own meal by cooking it themselves at the table on hot lava stones. Although steaks and other meat (pork, poultry) can be ordered fully cooked on an open grill in the middle of the restaurant by the staff, most people prefer cooking themselves at the table. We all (8 of us) absolutely loved the experience. The side salads which come with the meat are large and well presented, sauces tasty. For those with a big appetite I can also recommend any of the soups (especially the excellent regional “Kyselo”, with mushrooms and potatoes).Try a bottle of Moravian wine, you will not be disappointed. We were too full (meat portions are 200 or 400 grams ) to try any of the puddings, although they also sounded very tempting, but we enjoyed an iced shot of 18-year old pear brandy each! Not to be missed! The menu is only in Czech but the staff are very attentive and helpful. We had a small baby girl with us and even she was made very welcome, a bouncing chair was provided for her and later personal baby minding by the proprietor (himself a father of three he said) added to our safe enjoyment of the meal.

On a short trip to Vrchlabi we were looking for somewhere to have a light lunch. Just a quick soup would do, we thought, not expecting much in a small town like this, but then we walked in this restaurant and our “light lunch” turned into a very pleasant, leisurely and very tasty experience. The décor is very nice with a large fish tank under the full length of the bar. The seats (semi-circular upholstered “enclosures”) are comfortable and giving the sense of privacy. As we arrived with our child, the push chair was taken care of by the staff and high chair brought to our table immediately. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The service was quick. The food was well presented, piping hot and tasty. The portions were good size but the child portion was too large for a child we thought.

I ate in the restaurant breakfasts and dinners. Breakfast is a buffet style, tasty and varried. People could taste a Czech cuisine, stew with dumplings is really delicious. And of course Czech beer...

The place itself is noisy and with few tables. Food is average as well as prices. However, the service is just UGLY. My husband and I ordered beer, I wanted dark one he- white (we’ve just said the name of which we wanted and stated colour type). So, waiter brought us two white... When we’ve asked about dark one, he said that they do not have dark for this “brand”. Was it that hard to say it beforehand? Overall, service was bad, negligent and with no attention to visitors at all. The place is not something outstanding, but good enough to go. I believe that personnel should be explained as to how properly behave, as such attitude just resists of client-flow.
