The last time I dined at this restaurant was about six years ago and was very impressed with it, so my husband and I looked forward to going there again for some good Italian food. In the past it was always packed with people. This time, however, the place had only a few customers and we ended up being disappointed in the food. I'm not sure if they have changed owners, but the food was mediocre.
We had a small antipasto platter that tasted like it came from the grocery store. Just cold vegetables in oil. No meats or cheeses. The pasta was pretty salty and a little undercooked. I like al dente pasta, but this wasn't it. My husband's shrimp ended up being overcooked. The wine was very good, though. And you do get free limoncello at the end of the meal, which is nice.
I think the next time we visit Oberammergau and are in the mood for Italian, we'll try somewhere else.

My husband and I absolutely love this restaurant. The atmosphere is cozy and the food is spectacular. We have been coming to this restaurant for 13 years and we've only had great meals. Also, if you like game, deer and wild boar, this is certainly the place for you.

Okay I think it is the only Mexican food in Oberammergau but even so it is really good. The staff is super friendly and the food and service is of a high quality. It is made to order. Prices are reasonable. I would recommend a reservation as the restaurant is packed even on a Monday or Tuesday. They also had a drink happy hour from 1800-1900. It is worth a look.

Located right at the bottom of the Mountains this small restaurant offer traditional Bavarian food. We liked everything there from interior of the place to the relaxing and casual atmosphere. The place is definitely well hidden and you will need local map to find it but it worth. Some of the staff speaks English and they have English version of the menu. Be careful - the plates are big and despite of delicious food we could not eat everything we ordered. That's a must visit place.

We ate out on the Terrace. Food was pretty good, but service was just OK. It seemed like the hotel and restaurant was not very busy, and the staff emulated that. We went there because someone else raved about it, but our experience was so-so.

I would like to recommend a place you can not miss! Vladimir Zerebni, the owner speaks discreetly many languages and he is very well known as "Vlado, the Magician".
On one hand this is a typical Bavarian restaurant, you will eat very good food home made, good beer, and the prices are very competitives. On the other hand is a magic place, because of Vlado. I've known this place since many years, and I always come back with satisfaction, several times. Everyone visit the Zauberstubn in Oberammergau will have the occasion to meet the fantastic owner and be entertained by his various magic numbers, making each meal something special. You will be surprised. Do not forget to book in advance.

This is a nice and small lake Restaurant - for about 30 People in total. It is located directly at the walk-.way around the lake, and near the car-parking area. Not open every day, but most of the time during summer season, and also during skiing season. The place is clean, the Service is friendly, and the Food is of good Quality and well tasting. A bit on the traditional way - using more fat and oil than necessary, but that is the way the People eat it there in the Region. Fresh beer from the tap is a must-have, and you can overlook the lake, watch the ducks and swans, and enjoy life to the fullest on a very low Budget.

Good choice for upscale Bavarian fare in Oberammergau, and great house-brewed beer (the kellerbier in particular). This is upscale food, but in a fairly casual environment. The stroganoff was delicious, but less creamy than I am used to, and a slightly smaller portion than I would have preferred. The duck breast was a great choice, nicely cooked so that it was still moist and not too chewy, and with a touch of citrus to offset the richness. We didn't try it, but the table behind us tried the Kaiserschmarrn soufflé and it looked amazing.

Originally stopped in for a 1/2L of wine, but...more colleagues joined us and we stayed for supper. We ordered the pork schnitzel stuffed mustard and horseradish - simply excellent/exquisite!!! Our colleagues had beer and other variations of schnitzel. They have other things on their menu that also looked very appetizing. It’s a family run business and the owner came out and asked us if we enjoyed our meal and if we wanted anything else. He also thanked us very much for the trade. I highly recommend this place for couples, business meetings and families. I hope to return.

We have lunch in this centrally located restaurant. A nice restaurant as viewed from outside. It was also pleasant internally while the service was great. We have a light lunch which was reasonably priced. Good German food in a nice restaurant. Recommended.
