The Bellmill is a nice modern restaurant, the staff are friendly and helpful and it's very clean.Where they get zero out of five is the choice of vegetarian food. There is only macaroni to choose from on the all day menu, zero choices in the senior menu and slimway selection and no vegetarian choice at all from the burgers or main menu.Very poor.

Attended on 29th October for the 1st time, a family meal including my 8 and 3 year old boys. Booked table for 5.15pm which is close to our normal eating time. Ordered food by 5.30pm after flagging the waitress. Asked for drinks and main meals. Got the drinks (5 soft drinks) around 15mins later and mains arrived 6.10pm. By that point my kids, and the adults too, were famished. Unsure why the service took so long, especially with the amount of staff present.Food was above average to be fair. Steak pie is lovely as was the chicken. We wolfed it down as we were so hungry by that point. There was some redemption when we ordered desert. Asked for a quick turn-a-round and promptly got it.Can't fault the manners of the staff either. Very pleasant and attentive without being over the top. Don't know if i'd return however the quality food may swing it.Good afternoon,Thank you for taking the time to leave your review. We do aim to provide efficient service at all times. I am sorry to hear that on this occasion there was a delay in you receiving your drinks and mains. We appreciate all feedback, both good and bad, so we will take this on board for future training. I am delighted that everyone enjoyed the dishes they had and will pass this onto the head chef.We hope that you will return to Angels and we can show you that not only do we provide quality food but also great service.Kind regards,Lisa Clark

The Wide Mouth Frog @ Dalziel Park Motherwell

I have been going to dalziel for lunch regularly with friends over a long period and was very dissappointed with my last three visits. Firstly I took three friends to lunch and after paying the bill, I was stopped on the way out to say I had been given the wrong bill, and paid the 30 pounds shortfall, the meal was nice so didn't really mind. On my next visit, a retirement lunch for two colleagues which 11 of us attended, and although the meal was lovely, they informed us they didn't have a knife to cut the cake in half and no wrapping for the 2 retirees to take it home. Lastly I went for lunch with a friend who had undergone major surgery, wanted to treat her. When the soup came it was lukewarm, and the meal was not up to its usual standard. The coleslaw was watery, there were black bits in my peas, the fish was very small with too much greasy batter, and my friends pasta had way too much sauce and came draped in far too much greenery. The staff are always helpful but seemed a bit harrassed even though they were not that busy. Very disappointed and don't know if I'd return even though it is handy. I have always sang their praises to all and don't relish the thought that people will go on my recommendation and be disappointedGood afternoon,Thank you for taking time to leave your review. We appreciate all our customers feedback both good and bad. I will pass your this onto both our General Manager and Head Chef to look into the issues you raised. Could you possibly contact us at [email protected] with your contact details and when you last dined with us so we I can also pass this on. We really hope you do come back so we can show you this is not the usual standard of both food and service we provide. I will look forward from hearing from you! Kind regards, Amy

The function room shares a bar with the public bar which people in the public bar can see into the function room and can just walk into a private function through a door from the bar area which I dont think is a good idea.

We’ve eaten in here a few times but often get put off. Unfortunately I find that most items are either served with chips or rice. But on the other hand it is a pub and I suppose that’s what people expect. On this occasion I had the steak pie. It was ok, served with chips, I opted for them although I will say the server did offer potatoes but I didn’t want to take the risk of it being smash. I just like my food tasty as anyone would. Plain boiled veg with no seasoning? Not my thing, throw a bit of butter, salt and pepper. Doesn’t take much. On the other hand my wife had the salt and chilli chicken with curry sauce and believe it or not, rice. The sauce they use is a well known medium strength sauce from home bargains, I can tell that sauce a mile away as I use the extra hot one at home. Great sauce though! She thoroughly enjoyed hers. Thanks for your views Will take on board your comments re the veg but we do in fact make fresh mash potato fluffy and seasoned. Our sauce is also made fresh .... not from Home Bargains ! We hope these little things did not spoil your overall BW experience. We look forward to seeing you again soon.
