On our to Purcara this very cute place on the side of the mountain. We had a LEMONADE that was DELICOUS. The place was very comfortable and quant. the service was amazing.

I've eaten in a lot of hotel restaurants, and almost all of them are pretty bad.Not so Restaurante Calas. This is a hotel restaurant that I would visit EVEN IF I WEREN'T STAYING AT THE HOTEL!My wife and I were, in fact, staying in the Howard Johnson Plaza Hotel, and so eating at the restaurant was a convenient choice. We weren't expecting much ... and so were very pleasantly surprised by both the first-rate food and the outstanding service. Everything we ordered came out very quickly (which can sometimes be a warning sign of reheated food, but in this case was not). The dishes we tried were excellent interpretations of regional favorites. Everything was prepared with attention to detail from fresh, well-chosen ingredients. I would even go so far as to say that the food was prepared with love -- it is obvious that the chefs really care about what they do. And the waitstaff provided the kind of service that you would expect to see in the very finest restaurants. (Having just been disappointed by the service at a so-called fine-dining establishment, I can say that I WISH that all waiters were as a professional as the ones at Restaurante Calas.)My only minor complaint is that the wine menu is a bit predictable and a bit limited in scope. There are some really surprising and interesting wines in the Jujuy region, but I didn't see them represented on the carta de vinos.All in all: An excellent experience!

Going up the Colorados we found this place. Sitting exactly under the cerro it offers local food, locro, tamales, etc, really good and with an amazing vista.

We ate at Gabriel's place in February 2016 and very much enjoyed ourselves. Gabriel takes over a fairly basic little cafe in the evenings and serves imaginative and carefully prepared meals which he personally prepares. This is not a slick and posh establishment and indeed there is no menu, but Gabriel comes and discusses what he is cooking that evening. There was no wine available, but we drank beer - no great hardship!For an alternative eating experience in Purmamarca, we can recomend Gabriel.

We just wanted to have a drink but ended up eating in the patio before going to hornocal. We had the prime beef (very big) and the cazuela de quinoa. Both really good! However, we had to wait 30 minutes for our table to be cleaned respectively to be able to order. I still recommend!We are gladly to read the opinionMany thank "lilo lago" by recommend us!!!!

We found the restaurant through trip advisor, while looking for vegetarian options. We enjoyed lovely diner with great food, there were variety of non meat options beside pasta, for both starters as well as main dishes. The staff was friendly and the service was excellent. It is not a cheap restaurant , but worth the price
