My husband and I had an afternoon to kill in Chetumal, so we went to look for barbacoa. This place was close by and we're we ever stoked!! Not only were the prices extremely reasonable, but the pulled lamb barbacoa was some of the best I've had in my life. Great tacos and good lemonade, too. I came to this restaurant on the recommendation of Lonely Planet. It is nothing fancy, but a good, peaceful place to eat.The service on my first visit for dinner was stellar and definitely made me want to return. On my second visit for breakfast, it was not quite at that level but still friendly.The food was good, no surprise, mostly general Mexican (e.g., not Yucatecan). I got a huge stack of (machine-made) corn tortillas with my meal. Beer is available. Breakfast is available.There is no air conditioning, but ventilation is all right and the staff lowers the awnings in the afternoon.

I'm not 100% sure but I don't think our first waitress spoke Spanish... And we went early on a Saturday while it was raining so the atmosphere was quiet...However - as someone who has been to turkey and eats Turkish food also in the US what they had on their menu was well cooked and I would 100% go back.Yum!
