We are the meeting point of our experiences, the starting point of our ideas. The worldly and homemade melted in our modern retro.
We had a really nice lunch with excellent service. No english menu, but who needs that for ordering white wine, carbonara and ice-coffee. The coffee is the best iced latte I've had. They made is specially for since it was not on the menu.

We were looking for a cozy place on a rainy Trieste evening. Stopped in on a whim, early, as Americans do. The owner/staff is very engaging. A bit of an Italian lesson for my wife, chastising my choice of potato accompaniment, all in good spirits. The place seems to have a long legacy in the city and the environment harkens back to a time gone by. My wife had gnocchi with deer that was just molten, and I enjoyed Wiener schnitzel. Itâs reasonably priced, cozy, and a delightful easy going place for dinner.

For almost 50 years now, the Al Bagatto Restaurant has been providing this wonderful city a place to try the best fresh fish around. This has sometimes meant offering an alternative all-meat menu or even closing the restaurant when the quality fish that y
What a rip off. So many nice places in Trieste have fantastic food, in this place it is like a take away. Horrible food. Please stay away,Dear Ariel, ah so, we are a take away? Homemade bread. Homemade pasta. Homemade desserts. Working with 7 fishmarket of the city, and with 5 fisherman of our beautiful sea to ensure every day fresh fish. From 9 years in the Michelin Guide. I believe, indeed, I hope you have the wrong page. However, reviews like this are completely useless, they don't explain anything, they don't tell any information about the restaurant and its service. And to tell the truth, they are only great damage to the restaurant. See you and, if you are real, hope to see you in the future to show you how good our kitchen can be. Best regards Al Bagatto

A normal pub with great choice of the beers, staff were so kind and helpful. the food was so normal. I can accept every criticize; every person may not like the menu, the beers or the pub, but i personally find so offensive saying that the pub or the menu are "so normal". There is a daily searching on the recipes for the platters, the composition of the burgers and for the quality of he ingredients; the same is for the beers.I can understand that many people find that social a game where obtain badges, but the daily work we do is not a game.Have a nice day anyway.

A warm welcome was given as soon as we entered the restaurant, and a chair for the toddler in the group was provided immediately-The dishes were mainly fish dishes but all were cooked to perfection.I had a mussels soup which was very tasty.Whilst others enjoyed tagliolini con gamberetti and tartuffo. However there were mainly fish dishes. The panna cotta with fresh fruit was delicious and as stated the meal ,wine and friendly service were the end of a perfect day.

Trattoria dove si assapora il gusto del mare con un cucina tradizionale. Presenti sempre con la stessa gestione da 25 anni.
We enjoyed an excellent fish dinner here. Arriving on a busy Friday night the owners found us a very pleasant table. Starters included sardines, a memorable prawn pasta and scallops. Mains included calamari, an excellent local white fish and another fish expertly deboned at the table. The house white was average but the service was good and the warmth seemed to increase during the evening. Some creme brulee and complimentary dessert wine concluded an enjoyable dinner.

The location is nice and warm with wide wooden tables, and colorful and spacious setting. Interesting appetizers (I took a tasty tartare) and tempting meat selections, very tender and with vegetables topping. I had a sort of small ravioli, kind of standard though. The desserts were definitely good. The price is reasonable (especially desserts, while appetizers are possibly on the high side) the service is friendly but timing was not perfect (all 4 courses are supposed to be on the table at the same time) and in general it could have been quicker (but it was Saturday, pretty busy day). To come back.

What a wonderful place this is! Fabulous choice of beers including many local ones. The food was gorgeous traditional and locally sourced too. We couldnât have been made to feel anymore welcome. We were helped with the menu as it is quite rightly in Italian and given advice on our choice of beer. We only hope that we manage to squeeze in another visit before our city break ends. Thank you

We found the Antica Trattoria Suban via TripAdvisor and what a find this was! They offer about 15 dishes but they are all immaculately made and perfectly representative of the local cuisine. Prices are more than OK for what is on offer (expect to pay about 15 Euro for a second course, 6 Euro for desert, a bottle of great wine is about 20). Food is magnificent, well prepared and well balanced. And the deserts are to die for...try the ice cream! Service was absolutely great, very knowledgeable and courteous, with complimentary dishes from the house. The restaurant itself is a bit outside the city centre but you can easily find free parking spaces outside. Reserve in advance - the place tends to get full! Respect for what the founder of this restaurant has done! A very highly recommended establishment!
