The brasserie like the hotel has plenty of pleasant staff, mostly Eastern European which is always a positive aspect in Scotland. However if they are not managed properly their skills go to waste. This hotel desperately needs a competent manager. Everything is there for the hotel to be one of, if not the best in Scotland but the manager sabotages this. Please please invest in a manager who is worthy and capable of running this potentially wonderful venue. Truly frustrating !!

My wife and I were Pitlochry for a few days and had dinner twice in Fern Cottage. The service was friendly and welcoming with the menu being wide-ranging with an emphasis on Scottish produce. Over the two nights I had the salmon and the venison which were both beautifully cooked with delicious trimmings. I can particularly recommend the cheese board which has a nice selection of Scottish cheeses. It's a comfortable restaurant with a very attractive decor and, even when busy, you don't feel crowded in by others.

Itâs difficult to categorise this restaurant but we had a very enjoyable experience. Starting with a warm welcome and being ushered to a lovely table for two by the fire, the restaurant had a good feel. It could equally suit couples, groups or families.The staff were exceptionally friendly and efficient and, despite how busy the restaurant was, everything was served in good time. There was an interesting wide range of food from pasta & pizza to steaks, seafood, fajitas etc. We started with a shared calamari, followed by Sea Bass and Fajitas finishing with an amazing chocolate brownie & ice cream. Had a wonderful meal here with my husband Smoked Salmon & Mango Chilli Prawns to start with which were lovely Main courses were Salmon with hollandaise and Venison, which were both wonderful Didnât have dessert as we had no room to fit anything else in Staff were absolutely lovely, really friendly and welcoming Next time we are in Pitlochry we will definitely return

We ate here as we were staying in the hotel. Being a fixed menu, we had reservations about the limited choice. However, we thoroughly enjoyed our meal and were left satisfied but not stuffed. The flavours were subtle but very tasty. Wouldnât hesitate to recommend.
