So not thinking through well enough we ended up driving to Volterra one of these long weekends when Italians love to go and enjoy there own magnificent attractions such as this beautiful little etruscan town. Queing up for parking, people everywhere but in good spirit. So knowing from experience we decided to grab a lunch place just before 1 pm not risking everything is full. 15 minutes all restaurants are crowded. Ombra della Serra just a mid range place in one of the busiest streets. They could get good business just by location. But ambitions in kitchen is quite high, and the staff is so nice despite the rush. It is admirable to keep the standard, not becoming a tourist trap.

Wish we had found this earlier during our stay. Anything we saw on the various tables and our own choice was tasty and very well made. The cold cuts are great, Lasagne perfect, Tiramisu as well. Even simple Bruschetta with Tartufo was a new experience. Recommended. Nice decoration under the roof.

This restaurant is beautifully presented, bright and cheerful, elegantly decorated with modern art pieces. We were warmly greeted with smiles and received great service throughout our meal. The food was very good, served with lovely dishes for each course. Their breads were exceptional. The Prawns with black truffles was well balanced and salt level was perfect. We enjoyed the Tortellini with gnocchi filling. But the Pork steak with beetroot sauce was dry and unexciting in taste. We should try other dishes the next time.

We found this wonderful place here at TripAdvisor and decided to have a birthday dinner there tonight. The food, drinks and service was excellent. We had an aperitif, a starter, pizza, wine, dessert and digestif. Everything was perfect.

The view from Dal Briganteâs terraces is spectacular even at night and the service and food are fantastic. We arrived late after a day trip to Florence and the gracious owner was not concerned. We had simple pasta dishes that were cooked to perfection. Service was quick and very friendly. I would definitely recommend finding this restaurant.

Looking for a local restaurant close to our accommodation we liked the look of this from the reviews on TA. We were not disappointed. The setting, outside, with magnificent views matched the food. We shared a starter, pasta with truffle shavings which was Michelin standard, unbelievably good. Our main courses of sliced steak and roast pork were delicious. Deserts the same. The home maid wine was pleasant and good value for money.We have rebooked.Brilliant place.

Ate twice here... good food.. not big portions, but well cooked & great flavours. Ate outdoors, eating & people watching- as its situated in the village square. Attentive service. Average prices.
