For us, everything is right about Mata Tinta! Tucked back into and around an open courtyard near the edge of Tlaquepaque's bustling centro, Mata tinta provides breakfast, lunch, dinner, drinks, coffee, evening snacks, and unique local music every day. During the week's Days of the dead celebration, we enjoyed two evening visits and topped those off with an incredible breakfast. The view from anywhere in Mata Tinta is magical and just plain fun! The owners and staff go above and beyond to provide a touch of whimsy and let you know you're welcome. Try the combo breakfast 80 pesos (just over $4.00 usd) and enjoy fresh fruit, coffee, fresh squeezed orange juice, toast and an entree. The red berry marmalade with chipotle is to die for, and they sometimes have small jars to sell! In the evening, the flan is sweet, unique, and maybe the best I've ever tasted. A warm, welcoming atmosphere makes Mata Tinta a "must visit" in Tlaquepaque, just a few miles from downtown Guadalajara.

My partner and I went to Guadalajara for the first time and when we were looking for places to eat we were told this place was amazing! They were completely right!!! The food was incredible (The pâté en croûte was to die for) and the service was out of this world, our server Santiago went above and beyond to make us feel welcomed! Iâll definitely be coming back! The restaurant is quite new in the city apparently and has a nice wide variety of ramens and other traditional Japanese dishes, no waiting time at 1pm and the place is nice and quite. Prices are completely affordable too. Service was professional and friendly.
