Sandown is a seaside resort town and civil parish on the southeast coast of the Isle of Wight, England, which neighbours the town of Shanklin to the south, with the village of Lake in between the two settlements. Sandown Bay is the name of the bay off the English Channel which both towns share, and it is notable for its long stretch of easily accessible golden sandy beach. It is the site of the lost Sandown Castle. Whilst undergoing construction, this was attacked by a French force which had fought its way over Culver Down from Whitecliff Bay, resulting in the French being repulsed. It was built too far into the sea and constantly suffered erosion, until now reduced to a pile of rocks. Later forts in the town include the Diamond Fort (named after its plan), built inshore to replace the castle and which fought off a minor attack from privateers (probably French) in 1788, and the present "Granite Fort" at Yaverland, which is now the zoo. Together with Shanklin, Sandown forms a built up area of 21,374 inhabitants.

waited 2 hours and only received a starter. After finally deciding enough was enough we asked for the bill for what weâve already had. A starter platter for 4 people was £28. Although the bill read over £30 After telling them we had waited 2 hours we were called liars and that weâd only been there half an hour. Because of the long wait and the rudeness of staff we asked if they would take £20 for what we have had, then leave it at that. We were called cheapskates and verbally forced from the property. On the way out they carried on shouting at us, we are not disrespectful people, we just wanted to sit down, as a family and enjoy a nice meal to end a great day. Even the couple next to us had been there several hours, then at the end (finally) had to ask for the service charge to be removed. The service here was absolutely disgusting, the staff ignore you, this restaurant is an embarrassment to the island

Out with family last night and had a superb meal best we've tasted in a long time. Staff were great and very accommodating to my gluten free needs. Great taste, apply portion size and very friendly. Would highly recommend

Top quality food, generous portions, brilliant customer service and reasonable prices.This takeaway exceeded all our expectations. Large car park at the rear. They do not offer a delivery service. We won't go anywhere else for Chinese food. Banana or pineapple fritter 'a must' if can find the room for it.
