Met a friend for lunch having found this place via TripAdvisor. I had lovely home made lentil soup and my friend had a bacon and black pudding roll. I wish I had space left because it looked lovely. Took the dogs with me and there were other dogs there too. Thoroughly recommend

Coltman's Delicatessen & Kitchen

We were delighted and perplexed that we seemed to be the only people in Coltmans on a Thursday evening in early October. Initially, I felt the restaurant was lacking in ambience and could have benefitted from some mood lighting such as candles on the tables however, we were there to eat. The bread on offer was so delicious I was in danger of eating too much of it. My dining partner enjoyed his starter of hot smoked salmon but was totally knocked out by his main course of venison. He is still raving about how well it was presented and how wonderful it tasted. He does get out rather a lot, so for him to praise this dish so highly was unusual. I enjoyed my ribeye steak followed by a simple coffee. My companion chose to end his meal with a selection of sorbets which seemed to hit the spot. We had fabulous wine, Hogs Head if I remember correctly. We would recommend this restaurant highly. Definitely a place to book for a weekend in Peebles.

Being in the Spa all day enjoying 3-course meals you are not really hungry, but once in a while you can enjoy a (sweet) snack here where a big variety of drinks, hot or cold, are served here or brought to you in the conservatory. Very good quality, very tasty, brought by friendly, efficient personnel.

Called in on our bikes for lunch. Lovely welcoming staff who were all cheerful on such a drizzly day. The log burning stove was ticking over and we felt very much at home. We sat in the window and ordered two soups and two teas. The soup came with bread, butter and a pot of croutons. I had the pepper soup and it was perfect. My husband had the leek soup and declared it to be the best soup he had ever had EVER! Bold statement that prompted me to post this review. The scone and the lemon drizzle also earned very top marks. We will definitely return here. My new favourite lunch stop!

Enjoyed a lovely lunch at this small cafe in Peebles High Street. Staff were friendly and very accommodating of individual food requirements. Food was beautifully presented, fresh and tasty. Good value for money. I would recommend the Ploughman's lunch! The only problems were very slow service and the fact that the cafe is up a steep flight of stairs.
