Bella location.....all interno del centro commerciale "sempione"Si può bere un buon caffè illy accompagnarlo con della buona pasticceria fresca,o due biscotti o perché no a delle buone brioche molto ricche. Io non sono un' amante del pistacchio ma devo dire che la brioche al pistacchio è buonissima e molto ricca...Si può mangiare anche una macedonia e gustarla anche con il gelato,e per un pranzo veloce possibilità di tagliere di salumi o insalata mista .. Personale gentile e sempre sorridente ..Da provare sicuramente ..gelateria ..pasticceria ...caffetteria,frapperia,aperitivi...

As we were wandering around Piazza Mercato in Domodossola looking for somewhere to have a lunch time snack, we noticed the Cafe Istriano on the corner. As it looked busy, we decided to try it. It was very hot, so we sat outside under the canopy ad watched the world go by. We received the menus and decided to have a Panini with Brie, Ham and Salsa Rosa between us. We accompanied this with a glass of wine & a beer. The panini was nicely served and tasted delicious.The service was very good and the staff very helpful.

Uns wurde dieses Restaurant sehr empfohlen. Wir wurden zwar enttäuscht. Klar, an einem Samstagmittag ist das Restaurant zum Bersten überfüllt. Mussten lange warten um unsere Bestellung aufzugeben. Die Getränke waren gut, aber sehr teuer.

The only reason we went for drinks in Bar Moderno is because we had a train layover at Domodossola. Entering this bar is like traveling back in time. With an old fashioned interior with a big bar and matching hospitality. I felt right at ease. We ordered a glass of prosecco for only 3,5 euro. A real bargain for a nice big glass of lovely prosecco. We liked the prosecco so much, that we couldn't help but order a second one. After ordering our second glass, the bar tender brought us some free bites to eat: olives, bread with bacon and chips. Highly appreciated.I especially loved the little birds, flying around inside the bar. They were bothering no one and it was clear they felt right at home. I only had drinks at his bar, so can't comment on the food. I can add though that Bar Moderno also serves gelato. When in the future I have another layover at Domodossola, I'll definitely be back and perhaps I'll try some of their gelato.

There are few places in Nortern Italy where you can have a better traditional Italian meal. The restaurant is just a bit laid back from the main street, but not difficult to find.The restaurant is visited by many locals who have something to celebrate, or just an intimate lunch or dinner.The food is traditional, often based on local ingredients, fresh, and always great. I have been at this place now for several years. They have always exceeded my expectation!

Tried to find a vegetarian restaurant in Domodossola on the mobile application but this place didn't turn up. We discovered it by chance on the lovely Piazza del Mercato. Nicely presented plate, reasonably priced, open wine, vegan desserts and great espresso made for a very enjoyable meal. The place is small, seating about 25, so we were lucky to find a table for two at lunch time. It helps if you speak Italian. Since Domodossola is a cute little town only an hour's drive away, we'll certainly do an Arnold Schwarzenegger :-)
