Have to say the inside seating is a bit dated and small, had a wee bit of a squeeze to sit in the seat. Ordered a small fish tea and pleasantly surprised to get exactly as ordered and just as i wanted. No complaints whatsoever. Busy with the school kids at peak daytime periods.

Bought Groupon deal 3courses for 2 people £16.50. Choice was good for price. Starters were lovely, steak pie delious tho could have been warmer, my fish was not cooked so sent it back, sadly was put off tho offered me replacement, took macaroni cheese instead, this was nice, puddings were yummy, yes place could do with an upgrade and good scrub, not sure would take child in tho as swearing by drunken men at bar. Would i go back , possibly. For price paid can't really moan too much.

Had afternoon tea here in Cafe du Jardin today. Faultless! We enjoyed everything - and almost ate everything - from mini sausage rolls, chicken nuggets, sandwiches, mini scones and a lovely selection of mini cakes! All this was topped by a cocktail teapot. Service relaxed and easy, no rush whatsoever and our waitress very friendly and helpful. All in all, worth every penny!!

Quite an unwelcoming place to eat. Inside is dull, staff have forgotten how to smile, my husband’s coffee was brought to the table (you have to go up and order at the counter and pay) with no teaspoon, you have to go for that yourself. The coconut triangle tasted stale and very cheap. Lastly, able-bodied people dragging their chairs along a tiled floor had us stopping our conversations mid sentence as we couldn’t hear what each other was saying. Poundland sell packs of felt circles to prevent this racket. All in all, an awful place. Won’t be back.Hi Helen, thanks for taking the time time to leave a review. Im sorry you feel the shop is dull and unwelcoming. We genuinely do pride ourselves on providing friendly service and if you take a peek at all the other reviews, its a regular observation, however, if you disgaree I can only apologise. As for ordering at the counter, it does state that on the menu and is the method we have used for over 6 years. The teaspoons, as with all the other cutlery and condiments etc.., are presented on the unit in order that customers are free to help themselves to whatever they need, and we are in the habit of telling all customers upon ordering, to feel free to do so. Also, as the shop is quite small, most people have no difficulty with the distance, but for the less able bodied patrons, we are of course delighted to help if needed. We have put felt pads on the chairs numerous times ( I feel your pain!), however, as we are so busy, they do get worn off within a matter of days and ear defenders aren't a good look and violence isn't tolerated ;-)In terms, of the cake you purchased, I'm sorry it wasn't to your liking, if you had mentioned this at the time,we would have happily replaced it - on that note, however, none of our products are cheap or low quality - we use only Thomsons Coffee, Howiesons butchers, Barrs Bakers...to name a few, but everyone is entitled to their opinion. We do all enjoy work and our customers seem to like it but each to their own. Many thanks

The Wide Mouth Frog @ Dalziel Park Motherwell

I have been going to dalziel for lunch regularly with friends over a long period and was very dissappointed with my last three visits. Firstly I took three friends to lunch and after paying the bill, I was stopped on the way out to say I had been given the wrong bill, and paid the 30 pounds shortfall, the meal was nice so didn't really mind. On my next visit, a retirement lunch for two colleagues which 11 of us attended, and although the meal was lovely, they informed us they didn't have a knife to cut the cake in half and no wrapping for the 2 retirees to take it home. Lastly I went for lunch with a friend who had undergone major surgery, wanted to treat her. When the soup came it was lukewarm, and the meal was not up to its usual standard. The coleslaw was watery, there were black bits in my peas, the fish was very small with too much greasy batter, and my friends pasta had way too much sauce and came draped in far too much greenery. The staff are always helpful but seemed a bit harrassed even though they were not that busy. Very disappointed and don't know if I'd return even though it is handy. I have always sang their praises to all and don't relish the thought that people will go on my recommendation and be disappointedGood afternoon,Thank you for taking time to leave your review. We appreciate all our customers feedback both good and bad. I will pass your this onto both our General Manager and Head Chef to look into the issues you raised. Could you possibly contact us at [email protected] with your contact details and when you last dined with us so we I can also pass this on. We really hope you do come back so we can show you this is not the usual standard of both food and service we provide. I will look forward from hearing from you! Kind regards, Amy

New chef is excellent, I had lunch with my mum and sister and both of them cleared their plates which is very unusual, I requested half a portion for my mum as she hasn’t been eating lately and I was so pleased that she ate every morsel. I then had home made soup with my husband and it was delicious, I especially loved the really nice bread it was served with instead of those really hard rolls. Looking forward to going back, especially look forward to the new menu Thankyou so much for your wonderful review. Look forward to seeing you again

The food is decent and the drinks selection also good. Steak was slightly over cooked but nice. Some small issues regarding the staff and that in that there was a severe lacking of them. Toilets need cleaned. Food good, pricing very good and would probably go back.
