We ate here on 3 occasions, 2 dinner and a Sunday lunch. The dinners during the week were each delightfulThey clearly demonstrated the chef’s innovative and creative talents. The combination of flavours, textures and use of good quality food products that were often matched with unusual but excellent combinations. Of course such skill fails if it’s not matched by artistic and attractive presentation. Here Gareth Knights, Chef Patron, is a master of such skills and second to none locally. Indeed one could easily expect to see this level of gastronomy in our regional cities....not here on the outskirts of Southwold.Sunday lunch was good but didn’t match the quality of the dinners...unfortunately the food service operation does slightly let the kitchen down in its lack of ability to organise a smooth, unhurried, quality service. This is about to change has they’ve just appointed a skilled restauranteur to help.We look forward to returning to experience this exceptional restaurant soon.A first class review with some incredible comments- thank you so much. Apologies if an unexpectedly busy lunch caught us off guard and we couldn’t control the service to our normal high standards on Sunday. We look forward to welcoming you back for exceptional food and service to match in the future.

The pies here are excellent, but as my husband would eat two it makes them an expensive meal option. We would shop here more if their prices were a little more modest.I suppose people who can afford to live in Southwold can afford it.They never seem overly busy and I think they would do better to be a little more reasonable but the quality of their produce is good.

It was recomended to us by a few people so we went to find it near the sea front. It's a very popular place and when we walked in there were no tables but a family moved up to get us on their table. It's a very friendly pub, with lots of chatter and laughing so if you want a quiet night it's not for you! We loved the atmosphere and selection of wines and beers. We had a very nice pub meal with chips. We had a really good night.

Whilst here in Suffolk on holiday for a week we had heard that this place was definitely worth a visit.Very popular place indeed, glad we booked, service very good, we both ordered the local sausage and mash, very tasty and reasonably priced at £9.00 each.My wife then had a sticky toffee pudding which she said was deliciousGive it a try, but book first.

We have been here numerous times in the past and always had an amazing time! HOWEVER....... on this occasion it was a real disappointment! The menu outside from which we had decided to dine here was totally different to the menu that was actually on offer! When we questioned this the waitress told us that things change however the menu outside was the same when we actually entered the restaurant!!! Not much time to change there then!!!! Food choices very limited, no cocktails available, they say they have a large gin menu but the gins chosen from the menu were not available!!! While the waitress was very pleasant she was completely uninterested in the fact that nothing we wanted from the menu on show outside the restaurant was actually available !!! Will not be returning and will need to find a new fav restaurant in Southwold!!! Xxx

This is my favourite cooked breakfast in Suffolk (...and we have tried many!). Called in for breakfast and had the full English. The bacon and sausage was delicious, eggs cooked to my taste as requested and the mushrooms were divine. Try the outdoor terrace on a sunny day - very relaxing and a little oasis of calm. The coffee is very good quality and coffee lovers will be super happy. You will not be disappointed if you have breakfast/brunch here.

We had a great late lunch here. Yes, we had booked. Our food was lovely, the staff were friendly, efficient and considerate. The atmosphere was relaxed and inviting and the restaurant has plenty of charm, rustic and informal. My only small bugbear is that customers could bring in dogs. I'm a dog lover but not a fan of other people's while eating my lunch.

A lovely evening. We both had fish and it was cooked perfectly, complimented by an interesting wine and attentive service. The dining room itself is very, very old and atmospheric, and altogether made for a special night out. I’m used to London prices, and this meal seemed very reasonable by comparison, but also compared with another Southwold restaurant we went to the night before where the meal was much less flavoursome and the service incredibly slow.So glad to see you had a lovely evening with us. Thank you so much for taking the time to post us such a lovely review, we hope to see you back here again soon

A great place that we always visit whenever we go to Southwold (usually twice a year). The food is always good quality and there’s plenty of it, so go hungry! James is an amusing and attentive host, and this gives Prandium the edge over a lot of the other places in this town. We are really sorry he is moving on, and we will miss visiting this great little place the next time we go. All the best James, hope our paths cross again one day!Like you I'm also sorry to be leaving. Unfortunately landlords have become very greedy, which results in customers taking the Mick. Like the ones who've left the review after yours. Anyway, back to your review. Thanks for visiting again and taking time to leave lovely comments.I will keep everyone informed as to where I'm moving to.Best wishesJames
