The Neptune

This restaurant has some rooms, and has a listing under B&Bs, but I feel should feature under restaurant section for Hunstanton - as that is its main strength and focus.

We had the good fortune to stay two nights here, eating here on our first night. This restaurant with rooms is charming and the owners are exceptionally welcoming. The food was delicious and well thought out. The scallop raviolo was a particular highlight. The wine list was comprehensive and fairly priced. Breakfast was well prepared and wholesome. Most importantly the food was super, and the whole stay was a treat. A must to return.

Really pleasant atmosphere and surroundings. Staff were all lovely. We only had the lasagna but that was very well presented, and clearly home made (not out of a freezer!) My only complaint if you can call it that, is that the garlic bread had neither a smell or a hint of a taste of garlic, but it didn’t detract too much from our enjoyment of the meal. There seemed to be quite a few locals in, which is always a good sign. The outdoor areas were very inviting, and the bar and restaurant area were beautifully finished and lovely to sit in.All in all a lovely visit and would be happy to return.

This lovely little place in Hunstanton has become a favourite of ours. No frills, just a small and friendly place to stop for coffee and a bite to eat. Friendly staff.Part of me doesn't want to share The Coffee Pot, I may not be able to get a seat next time

We had a lovely afternoon tea here recently. Lovely fresh sandwiches, and a piece of cake. It was hard to choose the cake, so many were on offer. One of us had apple cake, which I can heartily recommend, I chose banana and caramel, which was too sweet for me, but delicious if you have a very sweet tooth. The staff here were very nice, I asked about busy times, and was told Saturdays were usually busy, but Sundays were slightly quieter. So next time we were in the area we decided to have afternoon tea again. On arrival the tea rooms were closed, this is a Sunday in August! On looking at the notice on the door they are closed quite a bit inthe Summer. I can very much recommend this tea room, we will definitely visit again, but please check if they are open before you travel. I am attaching photo of holiday times 2019 which may help.

Having had cream teas, it was a matter of time before we tried their Sunday lunch. We booked the 2.00pm slot which was perfect for us and with the restaurant not quite full, we had a choice of tables. Despite the limited menu, the home cooking was Devine. Very well presented by the lovely Angie, who despite my best efforts refused to run away with me. Lovely food and lovely service.

We visited yesterday and the only thing said to us was "seven pounds eighty". There was no hello, no thankyou and no goodbye! Needless to say but our pint and a half of cider and a packet of mini chedders will be the last things that we ever order here.It really doesn't cost anything to greet a customer in a polite fashion.I'm really disappointed, reading this review. This is a total failure on the part of the person who served you and I can only offer my most sincere apologies. I'm going to be messaging you privately, I really hope we can make this right by you.Thank you for bringing this to our attention, it WILL be rectified.

We called in for tea prior to a walk in the nearby Common and Ken Hill WoodThe apricot scone was delicious, mainly because it was clearly so fresh rather than because of the small pieces of apricot through it.Tea and service good - inexpensive!Thank you for trying the Granary and our renowned scones. We do have a good reputation as they are fresh daily, if any are left at the end of the day they are given to staff or binned. All apricots are cut by hand by the staff so they don't usually get to be in small pieces and either myself or my daughter makes them so would notice this and if that was the case we would put more in. We hope to see you again, perhaps a different flavour next time.

Still good value.I had the Roast beef, well cooked, good tasty slices of meat.the veg was excellent, good varied selection, loved the cauliflower cheese and leeks. It was obvious the chef had made A big effort with the Veg. Everything was well cooked. We all enjoyed our meals. We came with friends (who live in Norfolk) for an catch-up dinner and a very good evening meal it was. The welcome was very friendly and the atmosphere was good. The staff were efficient and helpful. There was a good choice on the menu. My wife is Gluten Free and her diet did not cause any problems. I had the pork, which I would certainly recommend. There was a good choice of drinks, both alcoholic and non-alcoholic. The cost was reasonable. I would certainly recommend this venue to anyone looking for a meal in the area.

Went for Sunday lunch yesterday 6.10.2019 Brilliant service, Perfect food delicious well cooked. We went for my birthday didn't mention it as it was for my 49+ birthday couldn't of asked for a better meal. I had mackerel to start, followed by roast beef medium rare my husband asked for his well cooked if possible he was not made to feel bad as you do in some restaurants. Not particularly expensive for the better end of restaurants and especially in Norfolk. Good choice of drinks for a smaller restaurant and well priced not inflated as again some restaurants do especially for a glass of wine. Will keep this restaurant as my special place to go and Thank you
