This was our second visit to this great Village Pub and Restaurant albeit about a year apart. We were impressed last time but this experience proved even better and not just because of the recent refurbishment. Friendly, efficient and welcoming Staff served us with the most delicious Scampi, Chips, Peas and Tartar Sauce you could possibly wish for. This was followed by the nicest Apple Crumble and Ice Cream we have ever tasted. These two gems even featured on their excellent value for money Lunchtime Menus. If you enjoy good wholesome Food freshly and perfectly cooked to order in a lovely atmosphere - why not 'give them a go'. We strongly recommend that you do!

We were staying at the adjacent Premier Inn and had breakfast as part of the deal. The choice was between the continental at £7.50 or full English breakfast, which included the continental at £9.50. Porridge was included in the continental breakfast. Lots of choice although no cheese or cold meats as part of the continental; the English breakfast is ordered and not buffet style.

I tried here for the first time with my elderly Grandfather. We booked as had been told it gets busy and the staff organised an easily accessible table near the door. From the second we arrived until we left they made us feel very welcome. The menu is varied with everything from lighter bites to something a bit more substantial. I plumped for the Bucklers Salad which was very tasty and my Grandad chose the Estrella Battered Fish & Chips with mushy peas. It was a large portion and he scoffed it all!!!The presentation of the food was excellent and the ingredients were freshWell done Bucklers and the front of house staff, you have a winning combination

I ate here with my friends on Sunday just gone and not the first time I've been impressed with the food. Reasonable priced food and good portion sizes. I had the roast pork belly - great portion size and lovely food. Could've done with slightly more gravy, but that's a personal touch. Ample parking and a lovely garden to eat in as well if the weather is nice. Will definitely return, would recommend for good, honest home cooked food! Thank you for your kind review and please don't hesitate to ask for more gravy next time.

Ribs & Co

We came here for a meal after being at knockhatch adventure park all day. The young lady was very friendly. The food was delicious, our 7 year old son had a kids ribs meal which was not only good value for money but great quality. My wife and I had the ribs, I had a bourbon glaze and she had the house glaze which was BBQ. As you can see from the pic the full rack was huge. The meat fell off the bone as it was cooked to perfection. Also the mozzarella sticks and the Mac n cheese was excellent. Definitely recommend this restaurant!!!!!

Passing through Hailsham at lunchtime on this sunny Autumn afternoon, and TA suggested Bebble's to us. What a lovely and different alternative to the usual cafes! At the heart of its fare is Hungarian langos, and these fried bread rolls - with endless filling choices - were done extremely well. Also with many different side orders available, including goulash. We sat outside as it was so lovely, and the staff were extremely friendly and attentive. Certainly glad we found Bebble's!

Stopped here after a walk around Arlington. Set in the middle of the village, this is a deceptively large premises. It is well decorated and very comfortable. Menu is extensive offering mainly traditional pub grub to a good standard. We had the gammon egg and chips (gluten free) and scampi and chips. Prices were reasonable. The car park is not that big and street parking is difficult but well worth a visit if in the area.

Were in the area and decided to pop in here for a drink as we'd never been before. The pub is just before the railway crossing, if you're coming from Eastbourne and there is a large car park if you go down the road to the side of the pub. When we parked we noticed there is a big outside garden area, that was beautifully kept. There were a couple of areas, closer to the pub that had canopys over, so you could sit outside at any time of year.Inside is very clean, a little dark, but there is good lighting, so you can see very well.We went to the section on the right of the bar, as you go in from the car park and were quite surprised to see three tables with people eating, as we arrived just after 2pm, so you can eat all day here, which is great as well.We asked the barman where we could sit with our dog and were told we could sit anywhere - this is a lovely touch as quite often you are made to sit in not so nice areas, so it was a real treat to be told this and made us feel very welcome. We noticed they do special evenings - one was an opera night with dinner and they have Tuesdays with BOGOF for burgers which is all day and evening and there's a curry night, I think it was Wednesdays, so a lot going on here.We were warmly greeted by the barman when we came in and I ordered a cider which came in a bottle - it was very big - Old Mout Cider was the name on the label and it was Strawberry and Pomegranate - it was delicious. Hubby had a pint of lager - it was a vegan lager and he said it was a little bitter on its own, so he had some lemonade in it, which he liked and a pint of diet coke.We would certainly come back here again to try the food.

Late lunch with a toddler. The waiting staff could not have been more engaging, helpful and accommodating. Sunday roast was very good, well presented and tasty. Chicken Caesar Salad - the chicken portion was rather underwhelming, dry and chewy. Next time i will have the roast. Apart from that one negative everything else was great. Lovely pub & restaurant.Thank you for visiting us at the Barley Mow, we hope to see you again soon for a roast! Best wishes, The Barely Mow

Londoners wandering around Lewes on a september saturday looking for somewhere to eat with wheelchair access found Irma's tucked away at the far end of the high street.Situated on the corner of several streets we sat outside and watched the world go by.We were told that there would be a bit of a wait for our food. Around twenty minutes didn't seem excessive and it was well worth waiting for.A very good reason for us to visit Lewes again. Our very best wishes to Irma's owners and staff.Hi sigrid oThank you very much for your 5* review and great feedback - we appreciate it very much.Do come back and see us again if you find yourselves wandering around in this neck of the woods again. :o)Best wishes
