It is the capital of the regional unit of Preveza, which is part of the region of Epirus. The Aktio-Preveza Immersed Tunnel, the first and so far only undersea tunnel in Greece, was completed in 2002 and connects Preveza to Aktio in western Acarnania in the region of Aetolia-Acarnania. The ruins of the ancient city of Nicopolis lie 7 kilometres (4 miles) north of the city.

This place has everything! Swimming pool, bar, restaurant, water-slides for the children, a great beach with umbrellas and comfortable sunbeds... It is so big that I never felt crowded, even in August. The sunbeds are free and one has only to order something from the waiters on the beach. The sea is great, as in all the length of Monolithi. The food in the restaurant is great, the prices are very good and the view from the restaurant is great. There are enough shadows for those who avoid the sun. The personnel is very polite and friendly. There are a lot of parking places. It's also built like a castle and its interesting to explore. That place is absolutely perfect! So if you are looking for a place to relax and enjoy your summer holidays, from early morning till the sunset (the sunset is also marvelous there) that's your place!

We had 2 juices.. One based on Orange, lemon,grapefruit and pineapple, the second was a smoothie with mango and other well combined ingredients..Nice tables outside, kind service..

This little beach is perfect! The sun loungers are free if you buy something and there is waiter service so you don't need to even get off your sun lounger to get a beer!

A beautifully decorated small bar/cafeteria up a side street from the main shopping street in Preveza. Lovely glass of wine (3 euro). Great atmosphere.

We were visiting Preveza again and spent a lovely night in Deli &Bar. We have had the tempura shrimps and sirloin steak and pork Pepe. Finally the great apple pie It was again all delicious.
