This review was originally posted on my blog. If you have enjoyed it then why not check out the blog. A walk along the seafront can be thirsty work, and on a Saturday evening, why not stop in a pub for some refreshment?Well, that's what we thought. The Marine is located at one end of Marine Drive, not far from the Floral Hall. It has some good views over the beach and the sea, and the outside area looks like it could be a bit of a sun-trap  in warm weather. There was a breeze whipping around when we visited, so we sat inside, although when we were leaving, I did notice a sign offering blankets for people who wanted to be outside. The table we sat down on was clear of glasses, although it was coated in ring marks from its previous occupants and was a little sticky. We did consider ordering food, but ultimately decided against it. The menus were a little sticky as well. There were several TVs dotted through the bar area, showing sport with the volume turned down, so conversations were happening. There were also plenty of people in the pub, a mixture of locals and visitors based on the interaction with the bar staff.I was quickly served, and ordered our drinks. There was a 3 or 4 hand pulled ales, which is always a bonus as well as a few lagers on tap. I was also able to get cash-back at the bar, which is great to know since more and more of our ATMs are disappearing. The table we were sat in was a little cozy for 4 people, but we managed, and had an enjoyable time looking out to sea and talking. A bit of a novelty in a pub today!Overall, it was a pleasant enough visit. The food looked nice enough from what we saw, but was a little more than we wanted to pay. I'd come back here.

At The Victoria we aim to serve every customer as we too wish to be served. We have a high emphasis on family friendly meals out, large groups for birthdays and Sunday roasts. However we do cater for couples looking for a romantic meal. Our food is home c

Okay so there are a couple of plus points here, before I go on to say how bad things were. The serving staff were nice, the roast meats were tasty, and the carrots and green beans were ok. But, the Yorkshire puddings were burnt, the roast potatoes and roast parsnips were deep fried and not oven roasted, and the gravy was tasteless. Also, they only accepted cash and not cards which is unacceptable in 2018. Don't waste your money dining here.

We ate here on our finally day, the pizza was good and the beer was cold and reasonably priced. There was also a good atmosphere in the establishment.I recommend the Mexico City pizza, I've also heard the burgers are good.

We must’ve driven by this little gem at least 200 times and never stopped in, I’m glad we did now! It’s a quaint little country village pub which was really busy but the super friendly staff helped us get sorted and couldn’t have looked after us better if they tried. The cask ale was Timothy Taylor Landlord and was immaculate, properly looked after and they had a good choice of draught overall, all about average price. The food was out of this world delicious, to quote my wife and all I can say is wow!! Our family where over the moon too. The specials board was full, I had the ribeye from it, which was cooked just right with homemade chips! The wife had a cod dish also from the board and just won’t shut up about how good it was especially the sauce!! True fresh veg cooked properly. My cousin and his wife had the biggest piece of the best homemade steak pie ever and a homemade buttermilk chicken burger which was huge and fantastic!! I managed to catch the chef as he was getting a drink to thank him for making our year and he was very nice and polite and humble. The only downside which we can understand due to harvesting season was the flies, not loads but they were buzzing around We will be back, can’t wait! Thank you.

From the beginning of our visit to the end, the staff at Wrygarth Inn couldn’t have done enough for you. The food tasted amazing, lovely homemade chips. And all at such a reasonable price. You also get free mini golf too with the kids meals, which both the little kids and the big kids (adults) enjoyed! If we visit this area again we will definitely be returning!

Having worked solidly all day on a friend’s garden, we were exhausted and looking forward to a nice meal out. Our friends had been there at Christmas and said the food was excellent. We were not disappointed. We hadn’t booked a table but it wasn’t a problem. A nice specials board inspired my taste buds. The dining area itself lacks a bit. Spotlessly clean, modern but a bit too clinical for my taste. But the food.....!!!!! I ordered spare ribs off the main menu for my starter. Followed by the sword fish fillets in a cream, garlic and spinach sauce with new potatoes from the specials board. The ribs were utterly divine. 5 meaty ribs in lots of a finger licking tasty, kick of spice sauce. They were piping hot too. So nice to get a bowl of water with a slice of lemon in to rinse my fingers!! Not everywhere does that. I could have had another bowl of ribs and been truly replete without even trying the swordfish!! I gave two of the ribs to hubby and friend just to keep space for my main course. I’m so glad I did!The sword fish arrived, a fabulous plate of food. This chef knows how to make amazing sauces. Meaty, firm and moist swordfish atop beautiful new potatoes bathed in a fabulous sauce. Lovely seasonal vegetables to accompany the plate. I was so full I had to give one of the fillets to hubby.I’d have loved a dessert- could see a list of specials including Bakewell tart ... but ... I was so full I couldn’t have done it justice. The prices were remarkable! Swordfish for £12.50?!! Steak was £16.95. Very very reasonable for this excellent eatery. Staff were friendly, helpful and attentive. Nice modern toilets, ample parking. Spoke to the chef on the way out and thanked him for a superb meal. He seemed really pleased we had thought to tell him so. Please can I come back!!! Thank you for taking to time to write such a fantastic review. We are all really pleased you enjoyed your visit and we look forward to seeing you again soon :)
