Yeoju (Korean pronunciation: [jʌ.dʑu]) is a city in Gyeonggi Province, South Korea. Yeoju was a county but was raised to the status of a city in September 2013. Together with the neighboring city of Icheon, it is known as a major center of contemporary South Korean ceramics, and hosts the World Ceramic Exposition every year. Other local products of note include rice, sweet potatoes, and yellow melons. Yeoju is the birthplace of Korea's last queen, Empress Myeongseong.

If you have interest about Korean history mainly Jeoson Dynasty this place must be first location that you should visit in Korea. In Yeongnyeongneung you can see royal tomb cluster of the Joseon Dynasty. Mainly the great King of Korean history and creator of the Korean alphabet (Hangul 한글) (1443) King Sejong's tomb make an extraordinary aura around you. He is sleeping in peace with his Queen Soheon. When you think about it suddenly you feel the grandeur of Korean history. Moreover the place is located top of the hill and surrounding with deeples green forest. So you can sit under a tree and enjoy the serenity of nature. This autumn I got a chance to visit the place with the help of Funday Korea Network's event that had been organized for foreigners in Korea. Besides visting place we got chance to listen traditional music and making traditional accessories of Korea.
