Cape Naturaliste Vineyard

Reviewed By colleenb951 - Perth, Australia

Wow... Wow... Wow... Such a great experience! My husband and I recently had the chance to visit the South West and do some wine tastings. We were extremely impressed with our visit to this cellar door. Not only were their wines superb, but it was one of the most beautiful vineyards we've seen in our travels. To top it off, the staff were awesome and they were only too happy to spare their time and share with us their extensive knowledge of wine-making. It was such a great experience and we managed to buy some lovely wines too. Would definitely recommend and return in the not too distant future! Thanks Jen, Craig, Lisa, and their furry pets who also made our visit so enjoyable.

Was gifted a voucher and chose Taste of Tuscany. A day of listening, chatting, learning & laughing. Siobhan and Carlo were fabulous hosts, getting everyone involved, sharing their knowledge and experiences, culminating in a long, lazy lunch. Amazing and accessible recipes which I have enjoyed trying at home. Definitely looking forward to participating in more classes. Just do it!

Empire Retreat Spa

Reviewed By Sadams2311 - Perth, Australia

From the time that we checked in for our short weekend stay until the time we left, we felt that we were treated like real guests. Our room upgrade to a villa was a welcome surprise. Rooms are very well kept and furnished well. Thought has been put into provisions in the bathroom, fridge and a little basket of essentials. My wife took advantage of a spa treatment and she said it was amazing - right on you doorstep. Very well located between Dunsborough (5 minute drive if you need to go to the shops) and Yallingup with easy access to all of the local attractions in the area. Breakfast was very nice and staff were very friendly.

Explore the ancient wonders of Ngilgi Cave! The Cave is warm in winter and cool in summer. Ngilgi Cave is located just off Caves Road, a short distance north of Yallingup, beneath the limestone ridge which forms Cape Naturaliste. The fascinating association with a rich Aboriginal legend describing the battle between a good spirit (Ngilgi) and an evil spirit (Wolgine) gives Ngilgi Cave its name. A cafe, playground, barbecue facilities and walk trails make Ngilgi Cave a fun place to visit for the entire family.

We have done adventure caving in other parts of Australia but this was our best tour so far. Thanks to our friendly and knowledgeable guide Reuben we had an awesome time scrambling, climbing, crawling and squeezing our way to the ancient river bed and back in the course of almost three hours underground. Thanks also to Shea and Gemma for finding Hilary and Neil so that the tour could go ahead (otherwise we were short on numbers). Thanks to Hilary and Neil for agreeing to take the extended tour. We had a great time!

We visited recently for a coffee on our way back from MR - found it was well worth the stop off - the coffee was excellent, as were the scones, but it was the fabulous staff who made us feel so welcome. They kept coming over and giving us more puzzles to do while we drank our coffees - there were lots of families there who were obviously having a great time with their kids - so definitely a family stop off for a few hours.

The Studio Gallery

It's a must to give this establishment a wonderful review! The gallery is very professional and has interesting and high quality works on display. but the best thing was the wonderful meal - a three course degustation with choices in all courses and for a very reasonable price. Our party of eight covered all the choices and all were delighted with their meal!Inventive ,interesting and delicious food.. All served by a jovial, friendly and ever obliging host. You could not fault anything - friendly ,obliging staff, lovely surroundings and beautiful food ! a seamless operation. rare in these times .And it didn't break the bank! i hesitate to write this as it may mean we can't get in next time.

Gabriel Chocolate

Gabriel Chocolate is Western Australia's first bean-to-bar chocolate maker. We import the world's best cacao beans and turn them into "single-origin" chocolate bars at our Yallingup chocolate gallery, coaxing out the wide range of natural flavours that emerge from the different cacao bean varieties. Taste the latest range of chocolate bars being made, and sit inside or outside near the grass at Gabriel Cafe to indulge in one of our decadent hot chocolates, salted chocolate chip cookies or hand-made, chocolate-dipped ice-creams.

What a beautifully presented chocolate display and tasting experience for a chocoholic. I enjoyed tasting the different chocolates made from different beans - the tour guide was so knowledgeable explained the concept of “Bean to bar”.We were guided through until our taste was matched with a specific bean. Our favourite was from Papua New Guinea - Bougainville (Raphael). Wow the taste lingered in your mouth like an after glow - chocolate glorious chocolate. We also purchased some novelty sticks like a lollipop, for the grandchildren to make hot chocolate. I don’t think they will resist eating the chocolate before it melts???? We would define recommend a visit - a very intimate experience with chocolate????
