Clarke Knives

Reviewed By RobfromCambridge

It’s not often that you can get an absolutely top-rate expert to walk you through a new experience, but that’s what my son and I got at Vlakvark Forge. Forget other forge experiences that ‘play’ at knife making and you leave you with some two-bit effort. Graham, a highly qualified and experienced metallurgist, took us through the whole process of forging, grinding, heat treating, tempering and finishing the blade, explaining every step in minute detail. I can not recommend him highly enough.

The Fox and Hounds

We were looking for a local Inn and came across the Fox and Hounds. Ideally located just off the M4 junction for Swindon. We spent 3 nights here and were very happy with our stay! Our room was cosy not huge but the room was very well presented. The bed was comfy and the en-suite bathroom looked like it was new. Our room overlooked the Wiltshire Downs with a veranda to walk out into! We had breakfast over the weekend in the main bar area. The cooked breakfast was very good as was the toast and croissants. Clearly this is an Inn very well supported by locals for breakfasts and teas and coffees. We had an evening meal which was excellent!

Studley Grange Garden and Leisure Park

Studley Grange is home to a beautiful tropical house full of exotic butterflies, a small zoo and a small working farm. There is a softplay centre situated in a small village of retail and craft shops. With a restaurant and a cafe you have a bigger choice of food to choose from. This is all situated within a large independent garden centre and we can't forget your pets with a large pet shop and groomers on site Pet Shed will cater for all your pets needs.
