The Forge Gallery

It's the real deal, not just glass art on the walls and in the gallery, but you can see it being made! They run glass courses and I saw some of the windows for the Worthing Pier initiative being made. There is a separate room upstairs for Ashes in Art, which is fascinating with cremation ashes to make memorial glass art and jewellery. Very impressed and diverse range of art in a beautiful building.

Aurum designer-jewellers

This little shop attracts clients from across the UK and beyond. Established in 1985, Aurum designer-jewellers creates unique jewellery in platinum, gold, diamonds & other precious stones. The business specialises in bespoke jewellery including engagement rings, wedding rings, eternity rings and other items to mark important events in Life. Deal direct with a goldsmith from the on-site workshop. Aurum's craftsmen also undertake jewellery remodelling work. This is where customers supply their own materials, which are used to produce a piece of bespoke jewellery. Worn-out, broken or old-fashioned pieces can be taken apart and the precious metals and gemstones fashioned into a brand-new piece. Large over-dressy pieces can be broken up to make several smaller, more wearable pieces. The business offers a free design consultation. This is an opportunity to discuss any ideas you might have with one of the goldsmiths from the on-site workshop.

After collecting a card for Aurum Designer Jewellers at a wedding event at Cissbury Barns, we visited the shop in central Worthing and had a consultation with Andrew. He helped us to form our ideas into bespoke wedding band designs that suited our lifestyle and he provided all of the information on timescales, materials, cost, etc. up front. Following our initial consultation, we kept in regular contact with Andrew throughout the "creation process" and he was even able to incorporate some diamonds from another piece into my wedding band setting. As soon as Andrew was able to reopen the stop, following the unfortunate pandemic of 2020 (that ultimately resulted in our wedding being postponed for 14 months), we collected our expertly crafted, beautifully designed, superb quality, individual wedding bands so we're all set in plenty of time before the big day!

Have purchased a few items over the past couple of years and always receive a fantastic service from owners and staff that are attentive and happy to spend time with you. Wish I had more space at home to purchase other items. Thanks Jane and the team!

Montague Gallery

Reviewed By 639jacquelinej - West Sussex, United Kingdom

This is an excellent gallery exhibiting many styles of art from jewellery, glass work, crafts, ceramics, and original paintings as well as prints, cards and many other things. It is a lovely place to browse for gifts, although I have to confess to keeping some of these 'gifts' for myself! The shop is closed on Mondays but has increased its opening times since last year. I would certainly recommend a visit - it's not at all intimidating as some galleries can be, and staff are very helpful.
