Dinton Pastures Country Park

Reviewed By DaniH0103 - Guildford, United Kingdom

Put simply, Dinton Pastures is a perfect area for walking, dog walking, paddling in the stream, boating on the lake and playing on the enormous play area. You could easily spend a whole day here and not get bored. We visited late summer and took 2 energetic 7 and 5 year old boys with their bikes for a walk around the huge lake - it took us almost 2 hours but we stopped for at least 30 minutes to paddle in the stream so it's definitely worth taking a towel and spare clothes. We finished our day at the enormous play area which is without doubt the biggest I have ever visited. The only down side is that because the play area is so huge you can't stay in 1 place to keep an eye on the kids - you need to keep moving to keep them in view. Only a minor point because there is so much for them to do there. There seems to be plenty of parking which is very reasonably priced and a pub across the road so all in all, a great day out for everyone of any age with or without kids and dogs.

We booked for 5 day short break, and we're thrilled with our lodge no25. Amazed at the plentiful size for 2 adults and 3 children. Situated at the very end of lane by lake, very quiet and am sure would be great in the summer months. We've enjoyed cycling around the local area and generally relaxing. Was superbly clean when arrived and being mum I've anti bac every surface. If there was a hoover would have done the rugs.

The Crispin Pub

At this difficult time I thought I would support some of my favourite businesses by posting updated reviews. The Crispin, a proper local pub. Cosy and unpretentious. Well kept beers and the ever changing range always includes a dark one. Beers served in over sized glasses. The gin range also appears to be expanding. A sun trap garden for the summer .. The staff are always cheerful and they know their customers. I wish them luck and hope to see them soon. Take care .,

I visit this pub every Friday/ Saturday when I order my Chinese takeaway from the Shanghai, or Pizza from Dominos. I love this pub, it’s a sports bar with a “locals” feel. The landlord is makes this pub warm and welcoming especially when the log fire is on. The staff are friendly and lovely too!! I love my Guinness and I only drink it here because it’s the best in Wokingham, hands down, without a doubt. Chris knows his stuff when it comes to Guinness and I’ve never had a bad pint yet! If your into Real ale, they have a good selection of quality beers. I have included a half drink pint of the black nectar, my only defence is that it’s damm good stuff.
