We walked from Moulton Drive Bradford on Avon (we parked our car there) and it was a very nice walk with plenty to see on the way.The view of the river Avon from the aqueduct was excellent. You can choose the cafe or the pub for refreshments.

Seend Locks

The five locks at Seend on the Kennet & Avon Canal were once a hive of activity with trade. Today, they are a picture of tranquility.

This is our first visit to the area and we had not heard of the Seend Locks before this. We walked along the tow path from the Camping and Caravan Club site to the part of the canal the locks start. The sight of the 15 stepped locks rising up the hill is spectacular! There are a few more locks before the rise starts making around 20 in total. The area between each rise has a small basin where we saw wildfowl and kingfishers. There is a new wood to the side of the canal which you can walk up to and by the side of which takes you to the top of the locks. There is a tea shop at the top which we didn't go into to. The path is not to muddy and fairly easy walking.

Harnham Water Meadows

Reviewed By MarcusHurley - Bristol, United Kingdom

We parked near the Old Mill and walked along the Town Path with the meadows on either side. It was fascinating to read the notice board about how and why the meadows were created and lovely that they are still being maintained. It really did give a feel of England 200 years ago, especially with the views of the cathedral.

PGL Liddington

Minutes from the M4, near Swindon, the convenient location makes it one of our most popular centres. There are some great facilities too.

Just returned from a weekend break with my 8 year old. Such a fantastic weekend. Excellent value for money. I expected tasteless canteen food for our 3 daily meals but it was superb and exceeded my expectations. Excellently catered to special dietary needs. The accomodation although basic was as good as most basic hotels I've stayed in. Not the most comfortable of beds for me as I need thick mattress but my son slept excellently and the room itself was great. Shower and bathroom were just what we needed, powerful and hot shower. The location is brilliant, activities are great, very well organised and never time to get bored. Perfect for very active kids who like to be busy. The staff were great, very good with the kids and hot on health and safety at all times. Would definitely go back again. It was quiet when we visited and I wondered if it would be the same experience during busier periods. I liked it with not too many people personally, it was just enough so the kids could socialise with others if they wished within their bubble and yet not too many people so as to be waiting around for dinner or activities.

Jolly Roger Adventure

It is safe to say that my 3 year old and her group of friends absolutely loved her birthday party. The venue itself is huge and clean, allowing for all ages to enjoy and entertain themselves (we had children ranging from 7 months to 9 years old). The food was tasty / hot and served to all children quickly whilst my daughter was made such a fuss of in her ‘throne’ as the birthday girl. We can’t speak highly enough of the manager who personally looked after us, making my daughters special day so personable. Thank you Jolly Rogers, we, and all my party guests will definitely be returning in the future.
