This bay gets the sun all day, the sand is washed by the sea each day and it has the best sunsets of all the bays in Thanet.

St Mildred's Bay Beach

Visited st Mildred’s bay today, lovely beach with plenty of on street free parking, enjoyed a very good lunch at Pav’s cafe and then rented one of their bright yellow bikes for a leisurely ride into Margate, will definitely return.

Westgate and Birchington Golf Club

Reviewed By bobf322 - Westgate-on-Sea, United Kingdom

I finally found a golf course that is open but also in excellent condition! Been playing all winter and I’ve got to say that the weather has hit the courses hard. Except Westgate it would appear as all greens were open with no temporary greens and only two temporary tees but only for the yellow tees. This is a short and relatively easy course although enough in it to please most tastes. No par5’s and no water but on the plus side it’s not flooded this winter. The course is splint into three parts which I dissected by a railway and a road but it doesn’t mean more walking as they are all close together. Has a good club house and a little cafe half way round as well as good parking although most of it is on public road. I’m not a member of this club but I’ve been here often as my course (no names no pack drill) is either flooded or most of the greens are temporary and they are not good. Only down side was the sand on the greens making them super fast and one bunker was flooded. Go after 1300hrs and you will get a cheap and enjoyable game of golf. Thoroughly recommended

Carlton Cinema

I’m a regular user of this independent cinema . I saw the film “ 1917” there this week which I can recommend , and I recommend that you see it at The Carlton cinema where the seats are comfortable and the surround sound is amazing . I also suggest that you sign up for a loyalty card . Oh I nearly forgot ! The prices are the cheapest that I know for a cinema , and it’s on our doorstep ! How good is that ! Lol
