Gloucester Park

Gloucester Park is a unique and versatile venue in Perth, showcasing exciting harness racing every Friday night. The superbly appointed facilities include 3 restaurants operating during race nights and 9 function rooms available for private hire on any day or night of the week.

Gloucester Park is the best harness racing track in Australia. It has been graced by mighty champions such as Pure Steel and Mount Eden. The racing is known as pacing. It's a magical sound heaing the jingling of the gear and the swish-swish-swish as the horses race down the back straight. The best position in the race is 'one out and one back." This is called "getting the sit." If the favourite has the sit, a cry will go up from the crowd "he's got the sit!" Apart from the racing, catering is good, from restaurant quality meals to hamburgers and chips. Many people go to Gloucester Park mainly because it's a great night out night out.

To whom it may concern ... 31st March was my wife’s birthday and so she decided that she would like to try the buffet at the Atrium for her birthday lunch. We have had good & bad experiences at the Atrium in the past however my Mrs wanted to try again. My wife’s name is Arcy by the way and we have been married for 38 years. We arrived at around 12:15pm. First up we were greeted at the hotel entrance by Ashley. Very friendly man and he assisted us by parking our car in the valet parking section. We then headed to The Atrium. I didn’t get the mans name but he was helpful and friendly. We were shown to our table by Honey ... Honey by name “honey” by nature. Her customer service was superb. Nothing was too much trouble!!! Our lunch was a huge success. The food was hot & delicious. The service from the other staff was also friendly and consistent. The dirty plates were cleaned away VERY QUICKLY. Honey arranged a piece of cake with a candle and it was so much fun. We really enjoyed our birthday lunch and I would like to thank all the Atrium staff ... including Honey for making her day VERY SPECIAL ???????????? Thanks again Kind regards David & Arcy Walpole

Many years ago, I had an argument with a sandalwood cutter about whether Gunsynd -- at that time the most famous thoroughbred in Australia -- would run in the Kalgoorlie Cup. Such was the inherited prestige of the Kalgoorlie Cup that he was convinced Gynsynd would make the trip from the eastern seaboard for the race. The prizemoney for the Cup amounts to $130,000 for the 2,300 metre race. No serious punter would miss the Kalgoorlie Cup Round, it's a great social occasion apart from anything else. This year the Cup will be held on Saturday 2 October 2021. It's one of the great races of Inland Australia.

Belmont Park Racecourse is one of two racecourses in Perth. It's said to be one of the best wet-weather racetracks in Australia, which is good, because it's Perth's winter track. It's about 6 km (4 miles) from the Perth CBD. To get there, the Belmont Park railway station is close. It's got a great location, in a bend in the Swan River, but the WATC could lay out a bit more on maintenance.
