Flat 8 Gallery

Flat 8 Gallery is a space for emerging contemporary European, North and South American artists. We provide a space that allows the artist a more personal connection with the audience, to share ideas, future projects and creative processes. And for the public to have an experience surrounded by art that can later become part of their lives. There are dinners each week at Flat 8, on a Wednesday, at which artists and guests meet in an exchange of ideas and cultures.

Have visited Bmag many times and really enjoyed the Black Sabbath "Home of Metal" exhibition in Gas Hall, I met a friend who I escorted to the Edwardian tea room and she was blown away by the splendour and style of the tea room and can't wait to visit again and show her friends this fabulous facility on our doorstep.

One of my favourite galleries in all the world. Some magnificent & interesting unique paintings - often in almost to yourself - only a few visitors. A thoughtful selection over many centuries. I have a number of "special favourites" - look out for the still life which has a perfect representation of the peel of a lemon When I went back to Birmingham University to attend an adult specialist course years ago, it provided a sanctity of peace, calm & reason . It could be a life-changing & spiritual experience

The Herbert Art Gallery encourages creativity, exploration and fun. Gain a fresh perspective on the legend of Lady Godiva, discover your ancestors’ history in the Coventry Archives, and explore British & European paintings from the 1500s onwards. All of this is just a stone’s throw away from Coventry Cathedral.

The Herbert Art Gallery is in a pedestrianised area adjacent to modern buildings of Coventry University. Just across the square are the ruins of Coventry Cathedral and the newer Cathedral as well as some of the city’s medieval buildings. This is a very good resource with a mix of Old Masters through to more modern exhibits, it is well laid out and with changing exhibitions it is worth returning to.

It may be small, but it is packed with a host of lovely items. Fossils from the local geology, so important to Dudley with the mining past; to tributes to local celebrities, and information about local industrial history.
