Longshan Temple

Many festivals and celebrations are held in Lungshan, often called "meeting place of the gods" for the wealth of deities worshipped here. Lungshan means "Dragon Mountain."

Bangka Lungshan Temple. (also Lungshan Temple of Manka, Mengjia Longshan Temple) is a Chinese folk religious temple in Wanhua District (alternately known as Mengjia), Taipei, Taiwan. The temple was built in Taipei in 1738 by settlers from Fujian during Qing rule in honor of Guanyin. It served as a place of worship and a gathering place for the Chinese settlers. In addition to its Buddhist elements, it includes halls and altars to Chinese deities such as Mazu and Guan Yu. around 5 pm we went there and not that much people and we spent about an hour to roam around the area, very quite and solemn. i loved the architecture and the colors. its a very nice temple Ive seen here in Taiwan. Small but nice one. Also just a short walk away to Huaxi Night Market which is a nice play to spend night and have a street food dinner, How to Get there from Ximenting Ride Mrt Bannan Blue Line and get off at Longshan Temple Station.. Just one Station away from Ximenting. About -16NTD Fare.

Bopiliao Ancient Street

I found this ancient street from a tour guide book and ventured out with the family by following the map and instructions. The ancient street is very nearby the Longshan Temple and Longshan MRT Station and about a quick 10 minute walk around the old neighbourhood takes us to the Bopiliao ancient street. The ancient street was preserved by the Taipei Mayor in 2009 to preserve its more than hundreds years of history maintained from the Qing Dynasty and one of the earliest establishment of the Old Taipei City that connects DanShui River that helped with the vibrancy of the city. The city has done a wonderful job preserving the ancient street with many free activities by artists and fun games for children to participate. I even think this could be a perfect venue for some wedding photo shooting.

Huaxi street Night Market

This stretch of noodle and fish restaurants, specialty shops and street vendors attracts throngs of tourists. Snake handlers and snake-derived medicines and foods give Huahsi Street its common name, Snake Alley.

This Huaxi Night market is the first night market we visited in our taiwan tour. just a few steps away from Longshan Temple is the Huaxi night market or also knows as Snake Alley. Its not a big night market but we really enjoyed the trip here and the food tripping we did. Its colorful and not crowded night market.. Ive found an awesome local food called taiwan fishcake... Ohh i love it.i had 3 sticks of it. We also bought lots of pineapple cakes assorted to this lady in one stall selling 8 packs for 800 ntd. Lots of street foods i tried the chicken nuggets, pork bbq, fried chicken etc. etc. come here very hungry and ull enjoy it. budget depends on what you will eat. In our case , we are group of 3 we ate for around 230 ntd total. not bad ha How to get there : From Ximen Station - BL11 Take Mrt Blue Bannan Line and Get off at Lungshan Station BL 10 , just 1 station away from Ximen Walk ahead and you will see Lungshan temple. Snake Alley is just on the Left side street.
