Benromach

Located on the outskirts of the ancient market town of Forres lies Benromach Distillery. From a small and almost lost distillery emerged a single malt withdistinctive qualities reflecting its hand made credentials as well as encapsulating the self-reliance, sophistication and modern values of Scotland today.Established in 1898, the distillery experienced many closures and changes in ownership prior to 1993, when malt whisky specialists, Gordon & MacPhail rescued it. Following an extensive reinstallation project, embracing the distillery's original character, Benromach was officially re-opened by HRH The Prince of Wales in 1998.Just three experienced distillers create Benromach using the finest Scottish barley and the purest spring water from the nearby Romach Hills. They personally ensure that only the highest quality spirit is filled into sturdy oak casks before being left to mature at Benromach Distillery for many years.

Myself and 8 others on a Rabbie's Tour enjoyed a fabulous distillery tour and tasting at Benromach. Though a small distillery, they truly care about their products, they act like a team/family, and have staff who truly love what they do!! Alec was our guide, and if possible, ask for him--he was witty, had great stories, and spewed passion for the product!! As for the tasting, we got to try 3 expressions, with proper tasting drams, and Alec walked us through each and what made them unique, their main character elements, and how they all tie into the Benromach line. I absolutely love the tour, am a new fan (and member) of Benromach whiskies, and cannot wait to go back with my wife for a more extensive and detailed tasting--it will literally be the first distillery we visit when I return with her to Scotland. They are that good!!!

Was given tasting kit and tour for Christmas. Brilliantly well presented live on Zoom, great hosts, showed you how to make Bramble cocktail and several other drinks from the miniatures provided in pack (Vodka, sloe Gin, Marmalade Gin, Pink Grapefruit and GB Gin, two bottles of Fevertree tonic) and gave guided tour and talk. Great for a party and fun interaction - done really well during COVID lockdown and much needed relief!

Eden Mill

NEW DISTILLERY CURRENTLY UNDER CONSTRUCTION. UNFORTUNATELY WE'RE CURRENTLY UNABLE TO ACCEPT VISITORS. Just outside St Andrews, Eden Mill is Scotland's original single-site brewery & distillery. Since 2012 we've been brewing and distilling here, creating a unique and diverse range of beer, gin and whisky.

Edinburgh Gin Distillery

Advance booking is essential as we are unable to offer walk in tours. Located in the beating heart of Scotland's capital, the Edinburgh Gin Distillery is a destination quite unlike any other. It's here that we produce small batches of gin, inspired by the majesty, marvel and mischief of Edinburgh and its inhabitants. The Edinburgh Gin Visitor Centre is a space in the capital where you can indulge both the mind and the palate in all things gin. From taking a tour or a guided tasting, to trying your hand at making your own, our goal is the educate, excite and libate; all in equal measure.

Like many previous reviewers, I received the Gin School Experience as a birthday present. I booked my day online and was very pleasantly surprised to discover that I was the only person in the class on my chosen day. For me, perfect. David, the “Instructor” was fantastic. He led me through the world’s relationship with Juniper, the sociology and history of Gin, the huge array of possible Botanicals, and the actual distilling process with consummate ease. With a short break for a sustaining buffet lunch we got down to the business of gin making and, as we waited for my distillate to drip from the individual copper still, David revealed an unexpected further love ( and knowledge) of the works of Robert Burns...Britain’s greatest ever poet.... Anyway, this return to School was the highlight of this, or any, year and I thoroughly recommend the experience to any gin lover OR amateur chef, who understands flavour combinations. The lesson includes the “tasting” of three superb craft gins, with the option of adding tonic!! Thank you, David, Andrea and Kyle, for delivering a cracking day and thank you, Tony and Wilma, for the best birthday present ever.

Welcomed from the start with a Salcombe gin, very knowledgeable distillers helped with finding botanicals and more Salcombe Gin in the middle as well as at the end made the whole gin making experience brilliant! Plus we ended up with a bottle of our own made VERY drinkable gin. Can’t recommend highly enough!

What a lovely surprise to find we have such an amazing distillery in Oxford. Was bought this as my Mother’s Day present from my youngest son, hubby came to. We got the bus from central oxford to within a 3 minute walk. Easy, no hassle and at the top of South Park looking across beautiful views of Oxford. We could have been collected by minibus free of charge if we wanted. Greeted by Edward and Ruth who made us one of our first of many G&T’s all made at TOAD Great tour, nice to see how it all started and where it’s going, funny, witty and the 2 hours passed by too quickly Taken back into Oxford by minibus with lots of goodies we tasted throughout the tour. Not just gin but vodka and whiskey ???? Would definitely go back again ????
