Cape Hawke Lookout

Reviewed By kpiddy - Brisbane, Australia

It is definitely worth the short drive out from the town centre of Forster to visit the Cape Hawke Lookout. The trail starts immediately after the carpark, passing by an information board the track to the summit begins, just 420 metres long. It is a short sharp climb mostly in the shade, there are mossy wooden benches along the way for those who might need a rest. The path is rough with many steps but thoroughly worth the climb. At the summit there is a eight metre high elevated tower, from the top platform of the tower there are magnificent views of the coastline and surrounding countryside. Allow 30 minutes return.

With over 60 horses to choose from I’m confident Craig would find a mount just right for you regardless of your experience. I had Flicker a sweet little roan mare that was obedient and well matured and offered a wonderful canter up Tuncurry beach. The tack is well maintained and Kim is an experienced and personable young lady who cares for both rider & horse. Always love a canter on the beach and the trail to & from are full of interest. Thanks for the memories guys. Highlight of my Great Lakes holiday.

This is normal seasonal activity. This 'beach' is NOT patrolled by any lifeguards, so caution is required when using this beach, and the surrounding rocks! Bennetts Head Lookout

Reviewed By kpiddy - Brisbane, Australia

Bennetts Head Lookout is another gem on the coastline at Forster, the easiest way to arrive here is by car or you can walk here as part of the Bicentennial Walk which stretches between Forster Beach to the Lookout. There is a small platform which extends out over a rocky gorge for great views of the coastline and ocean. From the lookout we walked along a short narrow path south to One Mile Beach, which if you have time I highly recommend, this is a very pretty beach.

Best deep sea fishing charter in town! Noel and Phil are local fishing legends, not only did they know all the good spots, but they are the nicest guys you could come across. They went above and beyond to make your day enjoyable. Everyone caught so many fish and they even scaled and cleaned them for you to take home. The boat was new and handled chop well. I felt safe being onboard, especially having two very experienced skippers. The whole day was fantastic, there were Dolphins jumping right out of the water and plenty of fish.
Thanks Noel and Phil for a great day!
We'll be booking again.
