Paperbark Woman

I saw this shop advertised in the tourism book and wanted to visit to purchase some fabrics for my mum who is a quilter. I was particularly interested because purchasing from here ensures that the Aboriginal artists are getting paid for their work. The lady on the day was really helpful pointing me in the right direction for what may work for Mum. I grabbed cards as they can do online orders and thought this might be something that the Quilting group might be interested in when I get home. If you are a sewer this would be a great shop to visit to get some authentic material and a reminder of your trip to the NT.

Aboriginal Bush Traders has wonderful and authentic cuisine showcasing Aboriginal food with a twist. I ate an excellent ham and cheese Panini. I drank a refreshing Rosella ice tea, which tastes similar to Hibiscus. The food was cooked to order and Raeleen greets customers with her contagious smile. The gift shop has fantastic indigenous items too. I purchased a rub that cures coughs for my father. The best part is that they're centrally located because it is a three-minute walk from my hotel. Lastly, it is directly across ta park with a sea view.

Carmel's Seafood Market

Reviewed By leahhorrobin - Geelong, Australia

We are just visiting Darwin and ducked into the fish market to see if they had wild caught fish for sale. They had a great variety, very fresh and delicious baramundi, prawns and oysters that we selected. It was so delicious that I'm salivating at the thought!!???? We have eaten their fish everyday since we've been to Darwin. Aside from the great seafood, the service and attitude of the staff was tops. In addition, we also had baramundi wings which we were unsure of how to cook and was offered great suggestions from the staff on their favourite way to cook and eat them. Will be going back for sure!
