Found Tim's tucked away dpwn what looked like a commercial side street. Hadn't booked but greeted by a smiling Tim and shown to a table. Tim came over and sat down and explained how things work - basically you tick off a sheet with what you want, take it to the counter where it is checked, order any drinks and pay - then sit back and wait. We ordered garlic bread as hungry and mains of 200g Wagyu steaks with veg and creamy mash - absolutely delicious and a change to get real veg plus English mustard. Only let down was house red wine which wasn't that special. Tim on the go all the time, checking everything fine with food and even clearing tables as well as telling staff if he saw customers needed attention. Also said goodbye to us as we left a fantastic Host and good hearty food easy to see why lots of locals.

We booked a table the day before and then on the day called again and only after we arrived were we told we had two hours to eat and get out for the next sitting (ok they didn’t put it like that but the outcome was the same) surely we should have been told this in one of our two calls.
The food is nice but you don’t get much for your money. One person on our table has dietary requirements and ordered an item that had the word ‘salad’ which they thought ( like most of us) there would be some lettuce- wrong. The dish also said pine nuts but there were not enough to even fill the cup of a baby’s hand. The waitress asked about diets but not sure why as what was ordered (the person didn’t know by the description) was not good for their diet restrictions. Photos of the dishes would really have been helpful.
The Deserts are nice but they didn’t have the desert two diners wanted so they didn’t get desert and the restaurant didn’t get their money.
Never like coming here and this experience just added to all past experiences.
FYI - they don’t split bills and you can’t order and pay for drinks at the bar

We dined at Manoli's this week as a group of 7 adults and had a wonderful evening. As soon as we walked in the door, we were impressed by the atmosphere of the place. There were lots of people, so book! After a friendly greeting from the maitre de, we sat and started with the entrees and an ouzo aperitif. Shared calamari, ouzo scallops and cheese balls got us in the mood, then we went to our individual choices of mains. I had the charcoal grilled octopus and it was magnificent and tender. Everyone seemed to enjoy their choices and we're sure to be back!

We had dinner here during our stay in Darwin. The restaurant view and atmosphere were wonderful but unfortunately the meal didn't rise to that level. It was average at best. The restaurant was full and the staff wonderful so Im hoping this might have just been one of those unlucky occasions. It wasn't that bad that we would never return but we will certainly look else where first.

The Pearl

Nestled in the revamped sandstone building of Victoria Arcade is The Pearl, a little Parisenne Salon. Interior reminiscent of the little bistro down a hidden laneway in Paris- complete with dramatic feature walls dotted with vintage mirrors, a tiled bar and decadent pendant lamps. The cusine is modern Australian with a french influence and offers Lunch Thursday and Friday, Dinner Tuesday to Saturday and All day Brunch on Saturday. With a well stocked bar of top shelf spirits Pearl has garnered the reputation of having the best cocktails in town, and if dinner is on your mind then the Prix Fixe menu with matched wines is a must try. Bookings are essential as this tiny little salon fills up fast. Dryseason a table in the courtyard is a must.

Right in the middle of Monsoon torrential rain and lightning I was determined to have a nice meal out. Based on TA reviews I called The Pearl in the hope of enjoying an early evening meal and was told to come at any time they would be delighted to serve me. Tick! ✅
The Pearl is tucked away in an Arcade and as soon as you approach it, the ambience just makes you want to walk inside, it’s contemporary and has a relaxed vibe. Now I am a hard person to please when it comes to food, and The Pearl did not disappoint.
I had a selection of plates and the stand out for me was the melon, mint, and prosciutto drizzled with truffle honey and shavings of goats cheese. A simple dish that was refreshing and thoroughly enjoyable. Next came delicious Panko crumbed mushrooms followed by perfectly cooked (not overdone) scallops.
All this paired with a lovely sparkling wine, and two wonderful genuine gentlemen from The Pearl who were most engaging and attentive, and an absolute pleasure to chat with.
This restaurant clearly prides itself on fresh quality produce via a small but very well considered menu of sharing plates delivered by fantastic service. Highly recommended.
