I really love Tarakagawa Onsen. Travelling is so easy. It takes only about 1 hour from Tokyo and then the onsen bus pick you up at the appointed station. It takes 45 minute further to the hotel where check-in is done smoothly and conveniently. The onsens are cool. There are 4 outdoor onsens of which 3 are for public and 1 is for women. The onsens open 24 hours. We even woke up at 3 o clock in the morning to use onsen in the middle of the night. Breakfast is awesome. We already have planed on going back to Tarakagawa in Feb where the onsens are fully covered by snow.
