Hebridean Whale and Dolphin Trust

The Hebridean Whale and Dolphin Centre highlights the unique diversity of whales, dolphins and porpoises found in the waters of the Hebrides. Situated on the harbour front in Tobermory, we are open daily from 10:30 to 16:30 Saturday to Thursday during April and May. Open every day 10:30 to 16:30 from 1st June to 30th September. Opening part time for the autumn. As well as information on cetaceans, interactive exhibits, activities for children and a gift shop, we offer talks on Bones, Baleen and teeth, and access to our 16 years of data. This includes species information and sightings collected from our boat and citizen scientists. Recent sightings can be accessed from the centre and via our ' Whale Track' app. Entry to the centre is free - donations welcome. We also host evening talks and special events throughout the summer, including scientific talks and headland watches using Opticron binoculars.

The Explore Mull Visitor Information Centre operates 7 days a week in the summer by the wonderfully helpful and knowledgeable Tim. There are plenty posters, attraction leaflets etc on display but Tim is the human touch that makes the place great. He is happy to give advice on all sorts of matters and seems able to answer everybody's questions. Well done and thank you for your help, Tim.

It is a great place to see some of the local history of Mull and it’s people! I would recommend stopping in and wandering through it. It is small and only takes a short amount of time to see everything! Please make sure you leave a donation as that is how they stay open and continue sharing the history!

Aros Park

Reviewed By susiedu - Kendal, United Kingdom

This is a lovely place to visit whatever the time of year and there are several different options available. The longer option is to walk along the road from Tobermory then, after visiting the park return through the woods and along the bay path. Or you can drive, park in the park itself (mind the potholes on the entrance road!) and do several different walks of varying lengths. The paths are well signed and there's a lake, waterfalls and shore to choose from. There are picnic tables too.

Really highly recommended. Had generous scrumptious toasties in a quirky setting surrounded by vines, with friendly efficient service. Brownie and tiffin takeaway just divine. Will certainly be back when next in Mull.

Island Blue Tobermory

Island Blue is based on the beautiful Island of Mull in Scotland. As its name suggests, we are based in Tobermory on the Island of Mull, one of the most beautiful Hebridean islands off Scotland’s west coast! Our harbour location has given us, and continues to give us, plenty of inspiration to create a shop that’s exciting to the senses for the many visitors that have made their way to our colourful town. We are also much loved by many of the resident islanders and we treasure their support all year round, and in turn have an incredibly diverse range of products for such a small shop as ours! Our products include children’s gifts, home decor, skincare, greeting cards, and ceramics to name a few.

This is the place to go to if you want genuine quality goods (you won't find cheap and nasty, tasteless plastic here, unlike several of the other local shops!). They have an amazing range of gifts and souvenirs, most of which are sourced locally, and beautifully displayed. I came back with a beautifully carved and painted wooden pair of puffins and a puffin mug! Wonderful friendly service.

What a delight and not just in chocolate forms, either. Their coffee is wonderful. A wonderful range of locally crafted gifts from ornaments to knitwear awaits you - and the cards are wonderful, too. So glad they were right next door to me!
