November 24, 2021 Misti Hsu

Once known as The Land of the Mountains, the 10,000-square-mile province of Tirol is a wonderland of gushing rivers, lush meadows and rugged peaks. Fantastic hiking trails wind along paths through the Zillertal Alps. Famed resort towns confetti the mountainsides, including Kitzbühel, St. Anton, Ischgl and Seefeld, site of some events in the 1964 and 1976 Winter Games. Compact capital Innsbruck is a medieval gem. The Tirolean identity is strong: Expect to see lederhosen and feathered hats.

Tratzberg Castle

Tratzberg is an authentic castle, originally furnished (gothic and renaissance). You can explore us with audioguided tours. We also offer an immersive virtual reality show and an experience area where you can touch and wear medieval things including swords and armour.

It was a rainy day and we decided to check out this castle. It was fabulous! It was not crowded at all, 8 in our tour. Probably took an hour with hand held audio players. We've been to tons of castles around Europe, this is one of my favorites. It was cold and rainy so afterward, we had coffee and cake at the restaurant. Highly recommend. The inside of the restaurant was cool. We took the small train up and back due to the weather. Cost about 6 euros for round trip. It is steep to walk up and takes about 30 minutes, at least.

Very nice lake, easy doable hike around the like. Half of the path is very straight, other half is a bit more challenging (as in: not doable for wheelchairs) parking si pretty close to the piburger see too. Make sure you have coins with you - parking is 4 euros and you can only pay with coins at the machine.

Stollen 1930 - the bar in Kufstein which you simply must see The new bar in the hotel is as inimitable as the Auracher Löchl itself: the Stollen 1930. This is a must visit when in Kufstein. We had checked into the hotel and were given two feathers to exchange for a complimentary gin and tonic at Stollen. What a fascinating and surprising place - just wonderful. Once our eyes had accustomed to the darker surroundings, it was simply fantastic. The complimentary gin and tonic was so good, we had to have another! There are over 1000 gins on offer here and the cave like surroundings with lots of candles, lamps and very comfy chairs are unique. Can highly recommend!

A friend of mine took me to the 360 bar..wow The views are great..see all over the city and the mountains are in the back ground.. A fantastic place to meet up for a chat and a few drinks.. No loud music which is great and they have comfy seating out side on the decking.. Going to rate this 10/10 for a place to meet up, chat and see the city.. Staff are friendly..drinks are reasonably priced and it's easily accessible by a lift..
