6 O'clock Gin Distillery

6 O’clock Gin Distillery Tours are perfect if you want to see ‘behind the scenes’ at a working distillery and experience the sights, smells and flavours of our working week. Your guides will conduct you around the building and show you some of the secrets and techniques that go into the distillation of 6 O’clock Gin and Bramley & Gage fruit liqueurs. Tours take place at 11.30, 14:00 and 17:15 every Saturday and last for around 1 ½ hours. Tickets cost £25 and include a perfect serve of 6 O’clock Gin & Tonic when you arrive as well as various samples of our delicious drinks throughout the tour. To ensure a personalised and informative experience, we aim to limit each tour to 16 people. While we try to accommodate all guests, we unfortunately don’t possess a lift to take guests to the second floor. The minimum age for admission to the premises is 18 years (we don’t have a maximum). We don't offer tours during the week, but our shop is open Mon-Fri 9am to 5pm

We bought the afternoon tea at an local auction the castle had kindly donated. Fantastic selection of teas and a beautifully presented selection of sandwiches, quiches, scones and cakes. Didn’t realise the castle had been taken over by a hotel chain so many changes since my last visit over 20 years ago. The grounds are spectacular with the two heli pads as you enter through the walls. A lovely place to watch the birds dancing in the skies and dream of days gone by.

Had a great time with Billy as our main Marshall. He had a challenging day with one group but handled it all very well. Better than I would’ve anyway. Lots of mud and puddles so we all ended up covered. But that just adds to the fun. All in all loads of fun was had by all. Thanks guys.

Thornbury Museum is run by a very keen group of volunteers. The 'permanent' exhibitions include a lot of very interesting local items; packed into a small building. They have differing 'visiting' exhibitions from time to time, the current one is by Thornbury Camera Club who are celebrating 50 years. The volunteers also do talks to local groups and lead walks in the area. Details of museum opening times and lots more on their website and they also have a facebook page
