Enjoyed the yellow colour fields with full bloom Canola flowers. It is not easy to reach this destination without own transport. I took a train to Takikawa, transferred to a local bus to a road side station at Ebeotsu, again took the taxi ( a van in fact) to the flowers field. Can buy a package at the Takikawa train station which include the taxi service from Road Side Station to the field. The taxi was not as crowded as the public bus from Road Side Station (道之駅) to the field. This taxi or public bus arrangement from this Road Side Station only for Canola Festive on 21 and 22 May.

石狩川の河川敷にある施設で、グライダーの搭乗体験ができます。格納庫には、スカイミュージアムという施設が併設されており、見学することもできます。10年ほど前に訪れた際は、役所からの天下りという感じの横柄な態度の職員がいて極めて不快な思いをしましたが、今回はそのようなことはなく、気持ちよく利用できました。

札幌と旭川を結ぶ国道12号のほぼ中間地点にあり、増毛・留萌方面への国道275号や富良野・帯広方面への国道38号へ通じる道道のハブ駅として、高速を使わないであちこち周遊しながらのドライブには優れたスポットです。
ファストフードショップや特産品販売コーナー、農産物直売所、中華レストランなど、食に関しては一通り揃ってはいますが、全体的に魅力がイマイチ？
農産物も流通経費がかかっていない割には値段が強気？！・・特にとうもろこし。
今回、あちこちと立ち寄った道の駅の中では、残念ながら最も印象薄いです。
目玉な企画を打ち出して頑張って欲しいところ(ーー;)/~~~。

滝川市美術自然史館と繋がっていますが別の博物館になります。
子供をメインのターゲットにしてるので展示も博物館、博物館してません。
学芸員の皆さんの手造り感あふれる展示内容構成です。
分館も有るのですがこちらは冬季閉館中？？？でした。
外からのアクセスも難しいようです。

江別乙屯田兵村の兵屋を復元したもので、滝川市役所江部乙支所の裏手にあります。滝川市内にはかつて江部乙兵村のほかに滝川兵村もありましたが、士族が入植した滝川兵村と一般人が入植した江部乙兵村では待遇面で大きな隔たりがあり、平等に扱われるまで苦労が多かったそうです。
